Celebrating a holiday party with your work crew is a great opportunity to get gussied up, enjoy a delicious meal with your colleagues, and toast to the end of another great year. Since Austin is one of our favorite places to host a party, we’re sharing the best spots to deck the halls and toast to the new year. There’s a Japanese farmhouse-style restaurant in Hyde Park, a bold boutique hotel in SoCo, and a modern art museum that’ll have your team feeling inspired. Looking for a place where you can totally take over and set up a winter wonderland of your own in the heart of downtown ATX? We’ve got a few options for that too.

There are multiple ballrooms, restaurants, and private rooms at The LINE that are fit for a holiday fête, but the travertine studio offers a great little hideaway for a holiday gathering that’s glamorous and completely private for up to 69 guests. If you’re planning something epic in scale, the window-walled onyx ballroom is a stunner that can easily be glammed up to holiday standards and fits up to 665 partygoers.
The event space options at Barr Mansion include a grand 19th-century Victorian mansion, a glass-walled modern dining space and an enclosed pavilion overlooking the property’s gardens. A holiday party here can easily host up to 300 guests for a seated dinner or up to 500 if you’re planning something cocktail-style.
You can celebrate your work holiday party with any size group from 16 to 160 at Mattie’s at Green Pastures in South Austin. The farmhouse property here dates back to 1893 and includes four separate private dining spaces, each of which works well for different party sizes and styles.
The rock-n-roll style Hotel Van Zandt in the Rainey Street District includes more function spaces than we can even count. For a holiday party with serious style, amazing service, and delicious bites from Geraldine’s, we’d suggest taking over the big-windowed Lady Bird Studio and bringing in a whole lot of candles, wreaths and holiday décor to make space feel extra glitzy.
An offshoot of famed Uchi, Uchiko has been crafting artful presentations of sushi since 2011. The location on North Lamar is warm, welcoming and designed to replicate the feel of a traditional Japanese farmhouse. For holiday parties, you can easily dine here with a small group of up to 34 guests in the private dining room, or take over the entire restaurant with up to 100 guests.
Treat your hardworking team to a private night spent dining in the atrium and peeking into the galleries at the Blanton Museum of Art. You don’t need much to make this place feel extra special during the holidays.
If you’re looking for a bright, simple space with big windows and tons of natural light for your holiday party, this space is utterly peachy. Peached Social House includes seating for up to 104 party people, great speakers and a projection screen, making any end-of-year presentations easy-peasy. Catering here is done by The Peached Tortilla, which brings a slightly Asian approach to classic Austin comfort foods like kimchi queso and banh mi tacos.
This second-floor event space includes a patio that overlooks Austin’s famed Sixth Street. There’s enough room to host up to 100 guests for a holiday party, and the street should be nice and decorated if you’re hosting in December.
There’s nothing that says holiday party quite like a beautiful old Texas mansion surrounded by oak trees lit up by sparkling white lights. Allan House is a Victorian home that dates back to 1883. The house, which can host up to 300 guests, was lovingly restored in 2000 and remains a warm, inviting place to host a work party where everyone feels right at home.

For a holiday party destination with plenty of options, South Congress Hotel offers a cool courtyard, a private dining room, a boardroom and a large 250-person event space. Depending on the size of your shindig, you’ll have a few ways you can deck the halls at this spot. Plus, there are three fantastic restaurants on the grounds that can easily double as party venues.
Set inside the beautiful and historic Hotel Ella at the Goodall Wooten House in Downtown ATX, Goodall’s Kitchen is a modern American bistro with a cozy, intimate feel that makes it great for hosting a small holiday party. Here, you can celebrate a great year by gathering around a hearth in the formal dining room with 45 seated guests or 65 for a cocktail event.
With its modern take on Thai food, communal dining approach, and bustling atmosphere, Sway makes a fun spot to takeover with your work crew of up to 150 guests. There’s a good flow at this spot, with both indoor and outdoor spaces. The signature dishes here include a prawn miange with betel leaf, toasted coconut, toasted cashews, lime, fresno chile, and grapefruit as well as a son-in-law concoction of crispy farm egg, braised pork shoulder, thick soy, and nahm prik pla.
If you’re hosting a holiday party downtown and plan to hit the famous music venues on Sixth Street after, Trinity Hall is an easy go-to for the shindig. With exposed brick walls, wood paneling, and a white marble bar, the space is easy to dress up or down for your holiday occasion of up to 600 guests.
