Our team recently visited The Confidante to experience the luxurious hotel first-hand and how they cater to all types of occasions. From beachside weddings to Sunday brunch to corporate meetings and, of course, some much needed OOO, Miami Beach has never looked better.

The Stay
Originally built in 1940, The Confidante has taken on a few different names and has gone through a handful of renovations but we think its current state is the best one yet. With 354 rooms and 14 suites, your stay possibilities are endless. I had the opportunity to stay in one of the Miami Suites: a beautiful space with a stylish living room and sweeping ocean views of the Atlantic.
Fried Chicken, Rum & Paletas
Hungry? Head on downstairs (or order room-service) to Bird & Bone by Chef Richard Hales. This Southern-inspired hotspot is a showstopper. Looking to take your dinner to the next level? The Confidante offers an exclusive deep-sea fishing experience for groups where you head out on the open sea with Richard Hales to catch your meal for later that evening. The F&B scene isn’t just limited to Bird & Bone though, the hotel’s Backyard and pool area let you order fried chicken to your lounge chair, you heard that right. From bottles of bubbles to The Confidante’s Thai Coconut, you’ll be sippin’ away for days. Pro Tip: Order the coconut with rum, you won’t regret it. While lounging, keep an eye out for The Confidante Cart, a roving cart that serves up hand-made paletas from Miami-based Cielito Artisan Pops and treats from popular gourmet ice cream shop, Azucar Ice Cream in Little Havana.
Group Hangs
The Confidante also makes everything for groups simple. You and your crew can reserve one of their poolside bungalows or cabanas for a day and truly get the VIP treatment you all deserve. Thinking about coming here for a bachelorette party? You made the right choice. Try out their floatie menu and sip rosé on a ring-shaped float for as long as you’d like!
Extracurricular Activities
If a pool day just doesn’t feel right for you, head on over to the beach! The Confidante’s iconic beach set up is the perfect place to relax. With your choice of reserving an umbrella or day bed, you’ll most likely be like me and fall asleep within 2 minutes of arrival because it’s that comfy.
During my stay, I had the opportunity to try out the new crystal massage journey at the hotel’s rooftop spa and wellness center. Let’s just say that I left feeling energized and ready to take on anything that came at me, yes I’m talking about my fried chicken dinner later that evening.
Celebrate, Getaway & Gather
Okay, I’m just going to throw it out there and say it. You need to have an event here. The newest addition to the hotel, the Carmen Miranda Ballroom, shows off 4,639-square feet of beautiful mid-century design. My favorite part? The wraparound terrace that overlooks The Backyard and pool area where we had dinner one night. Speaking of dinner, The Confidante’s catering options? Phenomenal. What sets the hotel apart from others is that all of their catering is done in-house and is created by the team over at Bird & Bone. This guarantees that you and your guests receive restaurant-quality food and an exceptional dining experience.
My other favorite event space in the hotel has to be The 1930s House: a single-family home that used to be located across the street from the original hotel, but was moved on to the property. Now it's the perfect space for receptions, meetings, and birthday parties!
The Scene
When you think of Miami, most likely the first thing that pops into your head is the craziness of South Beach. What sets The Confidante apart from others in the area is its amazing location in Mid-Beach – a great starting point to explore the rest of the city. Within a 15-20 minute car ride, you will find yourself in the Wynwood Arts District. This bustling neighborhood just west of the hotel is filled with wall-to-wall pieces of art (no kidding, it is everywhere) and delicious restaurants and cafes. A few favorites of mine are Wynwood Kitchen & Bar, Zak the Baker, and Panther Coffee. Fun Fact: The Confidante’s in-house cafe serves Panther Coffee, a local favorite and definitely one to remember. Our group also had the opportunity to be a part of a private tour of Wynwood Walls, the infamous outdoor art gallery that has shaped the area since its origins in 2009.
Final Thoughts
Where to begin? My recent experience in Miami Beach would not have been the same without The Confidante. From the accommodations to the experiences both in and outside of the hotel, those visiting have tons of options to choose from!
