Set on ten acres of California coastal landscape, hidden under palms and pines, Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa welcomes you to San Diego in the most beautifully perfect way and our Media Design Manager, got the full experience.
As a San Diego native, Estancia is known as a local destination in and of itself. As you enter the property on a winding road, lined with a mixture of large olive trees, cacti and succulents, you are transported to what feels like paradise, and to be honest, it just might be. Estancia La Jolla – in my opinion – is the most authentic San Diegan property that you'll find in the county. Come to soak up the sun at their serene saltwater pool, have a drink at a hacienda haven, check-in to a world-class spa or have it all and book your next gathering at the newly debuted, renovated venue spaces. Whatever you are looking to celebrate, do so at San Diego's most authentic spot for a gathering, group getaway or staycation, that always involves spa-time.

The Property
From award-winning gardens to a lawn flanked historic adobe buildings to a hacienda-style restaurant to multiple ballrooms, there are over 8 venues that are perfect for any gathering you are planning at Estancia.
The Olive Lawn is the perfect size for an array of outdoor functions up to 130 guests and is surrounded by swaying olive trees and bright blossoms. It is also next door to Estancia La Jolla's restaurant, Mustangs & Burros, for an easy transition from cocktail reception to seated dinner. Another more grand option for celebrations is The Pacifica Ballroom which is one of the larger venues on the property. Perfect for medium-sized gatherings, the room can be split into two equal sections, while side doors open to garden patios for a refreshing break or outdoor lunch with 400 guests. No matter where you are on the property, you're guaranteed to have the feeling of nature surrounding you.
The Spa
I experienced the spa at Estancia first hand and wow, did I feel like a true king for the first time in my life. I spent an entire afternoon at the spa. First, I started with laying out in the sun by the men’s saltwater whirlpools, got a nice bronze, then took a nap for the first time in... well I can't remember when. Then, I hit up the steam room and sweat out my "stress." After that, I checked myself in for an enzyme brightening facial and let me tell you, I reached peak king status. My facialist used organic fruit enzymes by Arcona for a facial peel that deeply exfoliated my skin for fifty minutes. The enzyme brightening facial at Estancia works to create younger looking skin and help with uneven skin tone, melasma, acne scarring, and discoloration. and man, did it live up to its expectations. I was glowing. Literally glowing. For days. People were coming up to me for days after saying, "wow you're glowing," "you're radiant," "you look like a Greek god." It was the most true-to-self I've ever felt and I've already booked my next appointment.
Mustangs & Burros
Do you like tacos? What about ceviche? What about coastal-inspired cuisine in a Spanish style adobe while enjoying a cocktail fireside on a spacious patio (that escalated quickly, I know)? Well then, I highly recommend the blackened swordfish tacos, the Ceviche Negro (ceviche with cucumber, cilantro, radish, heirloom tomato, and chili-onion ash), and like one of every cocktail because they are all great. If I had to drink one cocktail for the rest of my life it would be their Hibiscus Garden cocktail – a blend of their own Estancia Herradura Reposado with orange, hibiscus syrup and lime, and it's the most delicious cocktail befitting of San Diego.
If you like that, great, now make a reservation at Mustang & Burros and have a grand ol' time.
