The hotel originally opened as the 16-floor Lord Tarleton Hotel on Collins Avenue, making headlines and representing a boom for the city’s economy. In 2001, the structure was picked up by a crane and moved to The Confidante’s backyard, then again in 2006, to the space where it currently resides. It still has the original wood beam ceilings and hand-carved limestone fireplace.
