Cypress Falls Event Center Est. 2011
1 Woodcreek Circle, Wimberley, TX, United States
Right around the corner there is a geographic high point called Old Baldy which are 222 steps up to a panoramic view of the Texas Hill Country and Edwards Plateau. The original owner of this property build the rock steps with the same locally sourced limestone as he used to build the Lodge (Eagle Rock Ranch) in 1949. The entire property used to be 300 acres and it had an airstrip people would fly in on and take horses to check into the lobby.
Slim Pickens was the star of the first commercial filmed for Eagle Rock Ranch (now The Lodge at Cypress Falls) in 1951, there is a still photo from the commercial in the hallway across from the Tavern!

- The Scene:
- Just downstream from the headwaters of Jacob's Well, our property on the widest portion of Cypress Creek sits between two dam systems which create our namesake Cypress Falls. The property was sacred to the Native Americans who used the area for ceremonies, food and shelter in Eagle Rock, a natural grotto carved by water thousands of years ago. Later this area was inhabited by the Texas soldiers who used Eagle Rock as a shelter while building their forts in the area. Just up the hill, a family built a rock lodge in 1949 called Eagle Rock Ranch which became the place to be in the Hill Country for vacations, 2nd homes and timeshares. Over time and different ownership, the Lodge has remained a centerpiece of the community with a swimming/fishing hole, a 22 room hotel, event center for weddings and corporate events. Also onsite is a swimming pool, firepit, a Tavern with live music, a BBQ restaurant on the water, a food truck and a bakery.
- Design:
- The historic hotel still has it's original features. Rock walls in each of the hotel rooms, indicitive of the Texas Hill Country architecture. Built in 1949, the hotel has modestly sized rooms but comfortable. True to the time period it was built there are no phones, microwaves, fridges, or too many electrical outlets in the rooms (but these amenities can be found in the lobby). The hotel has a tin roof and a long hallway with one story.
Event Center: The event center fondly called the Quarry Room because of it's rock walls, can be transformed to fit any style or any event. - Standout Venue Features:
- All guests have access to the creek and the swimming pool. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboards & tubes are available for rent for creekside fun. BYO fishing pole or check one out at the front desk. Be sure to check out our stargazing charts and birding books at the front desk. At dusk every evening, enjoy complimentary s'mores at our campfire out by the pool. A morning or evening at the creek will be sure to show off the great blue herons, egrets, Egyptian geese & king fishers who nest and fish along the creek. White-tail deer are abound with Quicksand Golfcourse just across the creek from our property.
We have a Tavern with a full bar and live music Th-Sat; every Tuesday we have Open Mic night & Wednesday Karaoke! - Extra Perks:
