Venue Features
The scene:
Barr Mansion offers a one-of-a-kind setting for indoor/outdoor weddings, featuring versatile and well-manicured grounds, an Eastlake Victorian mansion, sustainably-crafted modern ballroom, full-service planning, and certified organic cuisine.
Design:
The Artisan Ballroom boasts a 40-foot glass window wall that brings the outside in for a lush reception space, and also features a hand-hewn frame made of reclaimed beams from a pole barn built in 1704 in upstate New York. The Artisan Ballroom allows for 200 seated guests, along with a dance floor and built in stage, which is perfect for live music. The new addition of the Farmstead, an enclosed pavilion which is connected to the Artisan Ballroom, expands the capacity for a seated dinner to 300 guests. The namesake Barr Mansion is an Eastlake Victorian mansion built in 1898, featuring wide southern porches and historic charm – and is available for dressing rooms, photo shoots and pre-ceremony cocktails with your wedding party.
Standout venue features:
Weddings at Barr Mansion include most of what you’ll need to host a fantastic wedding. Essentially, we are six vendors in one: the venue, the food, the cakes, all the staff, the rentals and the coordinator. All of these services are included in your wedding package, while various upgrades and rentals may be added on at an additional cost. We offer four styles of food service: Heavy Hors D’Oeuvres, Buffet, Family Style, and Plated. Our certified organic catering is not only prepared fresh on site, but in addition, we grow many of our ingredients here in our gardens. Many items are made in house, such as our pickles, mustard, and sausage. Our wood-fired oven turns out amazing pizzas and artisan breads. All of our cakes are baked from scratch and custom decorated to your preference. Our harvest-based menus showcase the freshest seasonal ingredients, and we invite you to customize a menu that offers your guests a memorable dining experience.
Extra perks:
Exclusive use of all buildings and grounds 60’’ round tables with choice of natural linens, along with handcrafted metal and wood chairs fashioned by a local Austin craftsman for your reception All wait staff for set up, service, and clean up – including TABC-certified bartenders All dinnerware, flatware, glassware, napkins, and service tables (buffet, dessert, beverage) All catering – prepared on-site from fresh, high quality organic ingredients Bride’s cake and groom’s cake (or alternative desserts) A one-hour rehearsal – typically the day prior to your wedding On-site coordinator and banquet manager Invitation to one seasonal food and cake tasting featuring select menu items Invitation to monthly cocktail events which provide an opportunity to mingle with our coordinators and other couples while sipping cocktails and sampling appetizers Complimentary map inserts for your invitations (on white or ivory card stock) Photo-shoot availability during normal business hours for bridal or couples portraits
