Singita Sweni Lodge in South Africa is more than just a string of luxury treehouses built to assimilate into the expansive and untouched land on which it sits. Singita, meaning "Place of Miracles," lives up to its name with its mission to conserve, preserve and protect the acres of wildlife it calls home.
For you, this means checking into an elegant and private tree house with floor to ceiling windows. As Singita unveils their newly restored Sweni Lodge which lies on the riverbanks in the Kruger National Park, they make it impossible to resist elegant safari living.

A Safari Aesthetic
Sweni Lodge is built to mimic Singita's natural acreage and South Africa's safari landscape. This magical hotel was designed by renowned South African designer, Cécile & Boyd, who pulled inspiration from random geometric shapes and the local artists and artisans of the region; in line with Singita's mission. The expansive floor to ceiling windows make it feel like there is no barrier between you and nature. To ensure a seamless transition between outside and in, all decorations reflect a neutral color palette with hints of teal, emerald, pastel pink and yellow. The works of South African based artist Sarah Pratt, sculptor Adam Birch, lighting designer Conrad van der Westhuizen and weaver Coral Stephens add a warm touch to the space, helping you feel right at home.
Need more nature? Each of the six tree houses are connected by elevated wooden walkways. Navigate the space amongst the trees and the branches. After a day of exploring the banks of the Sweni river, have a relaxing dip in the outdoor pool.

The Open Outdoors & Sustainable Energy
Sweni Lodge places you directly into nature and their 33,000-acre land is yours to roam. Book your days with guided walks, mountain biking and star gazing. For those with a culinary appetite, pay a visit to Singita School of Cooking, not only for your taste buds but to experience the community effect Singita has had locally. Located in the Kruger National Park means safari days are only a request away.
Post-activities, retreat back to your treehouse knowing your lodging is "touching the earth lightly," as Singita's philosophy goes. Sweni Lodge is powered through a large in-house power plant meaning the only energy you need is from the sun.
