The Wedding Artists Collective is composed of a crew of photographers who consistently take photos that are cooler than cute cat pics. And that is no easy feat.  They recently hosted a soiree at historical Brooklyn venue, Wythe Hotel. This renovated factory on the Brooklyn waterfront was originally built in 1901, and today is used as a glorious gathering space.

Retreat & Dinner Party

Lisa, the founder of The Wedding Artist Collective, wanted to host an evening where some of her favorite East Coast planners could come to relax and be wined and dined. This was an opportunity to thank these planners for their hard work. After all, her team of photographers relies on planners and designers to create well styled weddings which helps them to create press worthy photos. Isn't Lisa as sweet as pie?! #nysummersoiree #collectivegatherings

Lisa set out to create an evening that was aesthetically beautiful so called upon the ladies of Firefly Events and Poppies & Posies.  After some research she decided Wythe Hotelwould be a perfect venue for the gathering. No soiree however beautiful the setting, is complete without finger lickin' eats, so Reynard Restaurant provided delish cocktails and a four course feast. Each of the guests received super cute gift bags. I spy a cake topper from 100 Layer Cake and a party animal from yours truly at The Venue Report! #partyanimalsunite

Ideal for Dinner Parties & Gatherings

"The Wythe is a very fresh, somewhat new, happening space in Brooklyn. Many of the photographers in the Collective have shot there and the photos always come out great- there are lots of interesting, fun places to shoot and it seems like the type of couples that are drawn to it are always 'our kind of people'. It just felt right." - Lisa, Wedding Artist Collective

There are a plethora of indoor and outdoor spaces options for getting ready, ceremony, cocktails and receptions.

Highlights of Wythe Hotel

"The food and service was truly spectacular.  We never once had to ask for anything, it just magically appeared or was taken away.  Perfect services for a large party."

P. S. Ummmm, how darling is that tote bag?! - "Totes Getting Married". We ALWAYS love a good pun.

Venue Tips

Lisa, is clearly a pro when it comes to wedding photos, so she gave some inside tips on how to best utilize the venue from a photographic standpoint. She suggests using the 7th and 8th floor Lofts for your getting ready images (the photos always look great because there is a lot of natural light and the space is well designed). The lofts can also be used as a cocktail reception area for smaller weddings since one of them has a large balcony.  Some couples have even had their ceremonies on the balconies of the lofts! For a large indoor reception, she suggests using the "Main Hall" venue which is right off of the Outdoor Garden space. This way you have the best of both worlds with indoor and outdoor options! Sip, Savor and Socialize!

Additionally, there is also a gorgeous wine cellar  Private Dining room that makes for a warm, dark and intimate vibe. Fair warning - because of the low light it's a bit tricky to photograph in this space so make sure you give your wedding photographer the heads up that it's a dark space. But otherwise it's really romantic and lovely.

A Great Venue for Summer Soirees

So with seven venue spaces to choose from, why did The Wedding Artist Collective choose the 'Outdoor Garden'?  "We fell in love with the moment we saw it. The black and white tile floor was such a nice element and contrast to the brick and ivy walls. They have built in string lights that add immediate style. Perfect for a summer evening dinner. So overall aesthetically it's just a great spot.  Also, everyone is familiar with the Wythe and knows its a fun place, so we wanted to invite people to a venue where they knew they'd be in for a treat." - Lisa, Wedding Artist Collective
