Sacred Sands is an unrivaled wedding venue and the closest to the West entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. We're so close that our 5 acre property has pictorial joshua trees and protected sweeping mountain views for beautifully unobstructed photos. It's unique architecture and design lends to the feeling of being a "hacienda" or "outpost" in the breathtaking high desert landscape. This intimate setting is ideal for elegantly rustic weddings and various social events. Since 2007 Sacred Sands has been making the dreams of couples come true on its hallowed grounds. Be wed under our beautifully boho arbors adorned with flowers and kissed by the desert sunlight and clean air.

Sacred Sands has a captiviating ceremony circle which accommodates 100 guests, a sprawling outdoor reception area and a cocktail hour patio with majestic views. Our indoor ballroom opens to both the reception and cocktail areas and has stylishly patina’d polished concrete floors. Our two luxury soundproofed rooms serve as respite for the bride & groom or other guests. We welcome every couple fathomable to be betrothed at our high desert shangri-la. We congratulate you both and invite you to wish upon one of the countless stars in the Joshua Tree night sky for everything your hearts desire!

This architectural gem is an iconic landmark one mile from the West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Commanding magnificent mountain and desert valley views, Sacred Sands offers the perfect escape with its luxurious accommodations. Prepare to be in awe of the sunsets and overcome by the limitless beauty of the dark night sky with glimpses of shooting stars across The Milky Way. Take it all in from our deep soaking tubs or comfy outdoor stargazing beds.

Our Onyx and Jade rooms are ideal for two and serve as your private gateway to Joshua Tree. The rooms are designed for the ultimate in rest, with plush California king mattresses, luxury Parachute bedding and linens. Clean lines and rich textures entice you in. The thick earthen strawbale walls create a peace and quiet you have to experience to believe. Both rooms come equipped with a record player to enhance the Joshua Tree vibes and the Zen ambience of our Moroccan lamps.

The indoor showers feature multiple jets to surround you, rain head fixtures and river rock floors to massage your feet. Perfect for sharing! Outside you can shower al fresco with our new rain shower heads, or relax in your own private brand new soaking tubs as you view our famous sunsets. Rest in the sun in our outdoor beds, or sleep under the stars on your own terrace, complete with meditation platform. You can also enjoy the sunset and views from our intimate communal patio.

Venue Features
The Scene:
Joshua Tree National Park is exactly one mile up the road (1.61km). Hailed as one of the world's natural wonderlands, this vast desert park of over one million acres spans two great desert ecosystems, the Colorado and the Mojave, and hosts the most famous Joshua Tree forest in the world. Originally championed in the 1930's by famed socialite and environmentalist, Minerva Hoyt and Landscape Architect Frederick Law Olmstead (designer of New York City's Central Park), this spectacular desert wilderness, with it's monumental granite rocks and fabulous wild and plant life, including many endangered species, has become Southern California's premier destination for nature lovers, hikers, climbers, and those who want to rejuvenate in what Ansel Adams referred to as "The sanity of nature."
Design:
Referred to as sustainable or green building; sustainable because straw is plentiful and usually burned or tilled under each year, and green because it conserves our valuable forests and is a superior non-toxic insulation. The walls, stuccoed outside and earth plastered inside have an adobe-like feel. They are wide and flexible yet dense and air tight, lending to greater performance in earthquakes and have recently proven to fare better in fire than wood frame structures. Setting fire to a stawbale wall has been compared to lighting a match to a phone book; the density doesn't allow air flow. One might think rodents would enjoy living in our straw walls. Not so; unlike haybale, there is no food value in strawbale and once again there is no air to breath.
Standout Venue Features:
The Park can be explored by car, bicycle, horseback, foot, or from commercial plane hired from the Joshua Tree Airport. It offers countless trails, 8,000 unique climbing routes, camping and day sites for picnicking, carefully preserved wilderness areas for registered exploration, and rock climbing for all levels of skill and endurance. Guided tours of some sites require reservations.
Extra Perks:
Included in the venue fee is the following: Polished concrete "ballroom” indoor dance floor, outdoor reception area, cocktail hour area, various staging tables and furuniture, telescope, indoor and outdoor fireplace, tons of outdoor lighting and string lights across the reception area, bar stations, 3 fire bowls, dressing rooms, large kitchen space for caterer, day of wedding on site management and parking attendant service. Choice of 2 arbors for the ceremony, CBD offerings and partnership with winemaker. (Reception can be inside our ballroom versus outside in our courtyard if preferred).

We're working on expanding our rental catalog and currently have serape blankets, mason jars, votives and one large and two small Morocan standing lamps for candles or cards available for rent.

Maybe it’s the isolation amidst the grandiosity of the mountains, or maybe it’s all those bizarre-o looking Joshua Trees, but there’s something about the desert that is – let’s all say it in unison here – pure magic. While Palm Springs is popular for its cool boutique hotels and trendy restaurants, the quiet stillness of nearby Joshua Tree is one epic setting for a destination wedding that’ll have you and your guests feeling like you’re the only people left on the planet.

Whoever’s idea it was to lug a bunch of telescopes, a badass DJ, a slew of vegan tacos, and a whole party crew out to the desert in Joshua Tree, we salute you. Oh, wait. It was the brilliant minds at Moxie Bright Events, of course. Lucky for us, photographer Andria Lo was willing to give us a little insider info on this incredible desert wedding affair. Magic is certainly one word you could use to describe this one.
