Venue Setting

Polizu Manor is located in the beautiful Moldavian hills of Northern Romania. The manor was built between 1880-1887 by politician Constantin Ghika-Deleni, in Maxut village, Iasi county.

The manor from Maxut is both a building with architectural value and a special place that keeps alive the memories and sentimental value of the gathering spot of Moldovan and Bucharest boyars during the late XIXth century.

We find amongst senior guests of the place: Queen Maria, Princess Ileana and Prince Nicolae, who subsequently returned in 1926, leaving written evidence about their transition to Maxut, as guests of the couple Alexandrina and Polizu Micsunesti Niculae.

The domain was destroyed by the communist regime. In 2006 it entered a process of restoration that ended in 2012, and ever since it has seen a large number of gorgeous events, surrounded by nature, luscious food, fruit and vegetable gardens, orchards, love and luxury.

Inside Scoop

Our Oak Room hosted Queen Mary of Romania in her visit here almost 150 years ago. Our edelflower syrup lemonade is simply amazing. In the morning, look for our squirrels in our yard, they are amazing. Place some nuts at the bottom of the trees and they will surely thank you!

Design:
Our two hundred-year-old domain was refurbished in 2012 and includes pieces of furniture from the XIXth century which features amazing woodwork, but also natural stone, marble and glass.
Standout venue features:
Guests are provided with unlimited access to our pool and sauna, to historical walks of the building and domain. Guests can also visit our vegetable and fruit gardens and orchards to pick aromatic plants, cherries and all sorts of other amazing locally grown produce. Our chef is ready to treat you with the most amazing in-house cured meat products, gourmet dinners, coupled with our sommelier's superb wine pairings.
