- Design:
- Here is a long history of hospitality at Bartholomeus Klip, which shows in the friendly smiles that greet our guests and the relaxed atmosphere of the homestead. You are welcome to make the house your own, perhaps in one of the reception rooms where an open fire crackles in the winter months, or on the broad verandah that winds around the house and catches the late afternoon sun.
There are four double rooms with bathrooms in the beautifully furnished farmhouse and one separate suite outside, with its own secluded verandah looking over the veld and up to the mountains. Finishes everywhere are luxurious and stylish, with crisp cotton bedding and elegant fabrics. Our own toiletries add a special touch to the Victorian-style bathrooms.
Wild Olive House, which was opened in response to requests for self-catering accommodation at Bartholomeus Klip, has proved very popular with groups of friends and families. Children of all ages are welcomed, and the house has its own garden, swimming pool, large shady verandah and outdoor facilities. - Standout Venue Features:
- We offer the perfect setting near Cape Town for individually designed, intimate weddings, with a complete wedding package providing plenty of choice to make the occasion unique. Weddings have become a speciality at Bartholomeus Klip, and the Deckhouse makes a magical setting for groups of up to 50 guests enjoying drinks, dinner and the ceremony itself. For larger groups, the lawns around the farmhouse provide ample space to setup a marquee and have a party to remember for decades. Couples have chosen to marry in all sorts of unusual places around the farm or in the reserve, and we are happy to accommodate any wish wherever we can.

- Food, Restaurants, Cafes:
- Bartholomeus Klip is famous for its food, which is generous, imaginative and mostly made from a variety of local produce. The conservatory is full of morning sunshine at breakfast time, and at night soft candlelight makes a romantic atmosphere for diners enjoying the gourmet evening meal. High tea, with its delicious array of sweet and savoury choices, is a speciality of the farmhouse. The restaurant is open every day for lunch, with a weekly changing 3-course set menu with welcome drink and tea or coffee, and a kids menu.
- Bars & Lounges:
- Choosing the right wine for the right food, or to match an occasion and a setting, presents a challenge we enjoy. Our wines have been selected because we believe they best complement the food, the atmosphere and the setting at Bartholomeus Klip. We have endeavoured to give our selection as much of a local flavour as possible, whilst offering you what we think is the best the vineyards within a 30km radius of Bartholomeus Klip have produced. We have also recommended a few vineyards just outside our area which we think are worth a try.
