Selecting a spot to have brunch in New York is always a daunting task with so many options available. But if it’s a chic setting and an incredibly delicious menu you’re after, Café Medi is a must. Located in the Lower East Side’s Hotel on Rivington, this coastal Mediterranean restaurant is at the top of our brunch bucket list.
The best thing on the menu? Possibly the summer peaches with burrata and prosciutto served alongside a glass of rosé... But we'll let you be the judge of that.

Fit for a Fete
With high ceilings, great natural light and various bars and spaces, Café Medi is an easy place to host a bridal shower, baby shower, birthday brunch, or simply a small gathering of friends. The terrace sits about 22 guests, while the main dining area is suited for about 90 guests. The space is modern but has a real familial quality to it that’ll have your friends feeling right at home from the moment they walk in the door.
Mediterranean Menu
Half the fun of summertime brunching is being able to order a ton of different types of food to share with your friends, and the menu at Medi is perfect for that. Order oysters and ceviche from the crudo bar, and follow it up with a summery blood orange, pistachio, feta and baby lettuce salad. Or, if you’re feeling more traditional with your brunch bites, try the banana buttermilk pancakes or the sunny side eggs with burrata and speck. Nom!

Peruvian Gods Dance Overhead
A Spanish artist painted the Peruvian Gods that gaze down at restaurant guests as they nosh on their brunch. The colorful blue hues and emphasis on interaction with animals give a whimsical feel to the space while telling a visually interesting story. The colorful space is a gorgeous place to spend an afternoon sipping on well-deserved weekend cocktails.
