Australia is known for cranking out some beautiful architecture and interior design, so it should come as no surprise that Australian weddings are equally stunning. This Brisbane wedding reception took place at a warehouse-style venue known as The Joinery. The couple combined their modern aesthetic with touches of vintage fashion and décor to create a setting that was a reflection of their personalities and an authentically Aussie style.
We recently got the details on this gorgeous Queensland wedding from photographer Alice Mahran. Read on for more about The Joinery and this bride’s heirloom wedding gown.

Tell us a little about the couple :)
I didn't know the couple before I was booked. After photographing the wedding, I've gotten to know them very well because they are so kind and warm. Some people you meet have hearts in their eyes. These two are like that.
What makes The Joinery ideal for weddings and events?
The standout feature of the venue was definitely that it's a place where you can create any atmosphere you want and it's made so that you can make the space personal so it doesn't have a standout look on it's own.

And that handmade wedding gown? It was made by the bride’s great grandmother for her grandmother’s wedding 50 years prior. Living proof that you can, in fact, use family heirlooms and still look totally stylish.
