With the cool, crisp air and golden light of autumn, a late fall wedding is always a stunner. This micro wedding at a private estate in St. Helena embraced the beauty and bounty of the season, using persimmons and stonework as the ultimate design inspiration. In fact, we can’t imagine a wedding that could serve as better inspiration for your own upcoming Friendsgiving celebration. Forage for local greenery, set out all the candles you can find and gather your nearest and dearest for a fabulous fall fête.

We recently got the scoop from photographer Sylvie Gil about this intimate wine country wedding and couldn’t wait to share. Read below for more from Sylvie and the couple’s own words about their wedding look.

Tell us a little about the couple and how you became a part of their wedding :)
Chris and Andrew are actually friends of friends of mine here in San Francisco. They own several businesses in the city and are very philanthropic. They have been together 8 years and decided to have an intimate wedding.

What was the inspiration behind the design of this wedding?
They love Napa Valley and used a friend’s home for their wedding. We incorporated a lot of natural elements and fall foliage in their decor.

From the couple:

"We pulled our color inspiration from the persimmon tree, on the side of the house, and the stonework around the home. We wanted to embrace our surroundings and play off what was already naturally there. As a result, we drew from the beautiful fall colors, which ended up being the perfect color palatte.

It was a beautiful day! The air was crisp but the sun was shining and there was no wind. The trees already had an autumn glow, but the leaves had not yet dropped. We were thankful to be surrounded by such amazing friends. It was the best day of our lives."
