Pack up all your chunky knit sweaters and snow gear because you and your squad aren’t going to want to miss a trip to the slopes this year! This 1889 small town schoolhouse has been gutted and renovated to the gills. Expect lots of airy white space, bright sunlight, reclaimed wood floors, and beds so comfy it’s like you’re sleeping in a cloud. We’d say this is the perfect girls trip for the skiing and snowboarding set, but you might not even want to leave the hotel!
Snow Squad Goals
If you’re anything like we are with our lady squads, even the mere suggestion of a girls trip is enough to get you packing. A slopeside weekend surrounded by your mains, with billowy white snow falling outside, a bowl of hot cocoa in hand, and all the laughter and gossip you can muster sounds like a winter wonderland dream come to life. What better setting for a girls getaway than a town that has two ski slopes to choose from, a ton of cute and cozy hotel bars, and a plethora of masseuse options?
In December of 2011, Washington School House opened up its big, white schoolhouse doors as a boutique hotel. Dating back to 1889, this limestone beauty is as charmingly feminine as it is instagram backdrop worthy.
The Ultimate Slumber Party Pad
With reclaimed oak barn wood floors throughout, an eclectic art collection that’s mostly modern vintage with pops of bright colors mixed in, and a smattering of antique furniture rivaling that of some of our favorite antique dealers, the décor makes this spot feel more like home than hotel.
Don't these vintage twin wood beds remind you of a grown up version of a bed you may have had as a little girl? We are brought back to the days of late night giggles over teeny bop magazines while crank calling our school crushes. This schoolhouse automatically takes us back to those sweet and silly times of childhood.
You will wake up to the smell of freshly griddled pancakes and delicous breakfast with fresh fruit. Head down to the whitewashed dining room in your PJ's. Share a mimosa, or two, or three with your gals as you plan the day ahead. Talk about the ultimate slumber party pad.
For all you bachelorette party planners, Washington School House has a private chef who works with all-organic, all-delicious produce and we’re envisioning a little bachelorette feast for the crew.
This boutique hotel is fit for an intimate bash. The whitewashed backdrop, with dangling chandeliers and gilded gold mirrors is straight out of a rom com movie set. You really don't need to decorate for your girls getaway or bach party, but if you decide to fancy it up a bit with some floral touches, it gets quite girly and gorgeous.
The cozy limestone fireplace can be adorned with greenery, garlands, candles and sweet little bud vases with pretty florals peeking out.
For the table setting where you will gab with the gals over cocktails and farm fresh fare served up by Washington Schoolhouse, bring in some pretty ivory taper candles in clear glass candlesticks. Cover the table with wintery greenery like designers A Flower Afternoon and Mood Events did.
Surprise the bride to be with a little celebratory dinner in her honor. Maybe use a tasty, local jam as favors?
After your fun day of drinking, dining and checking out the town, rest up so you can explore the slopes.
Your skiing and snowboarding friends can choose between a couple of downhill options like Canyons Ski Resort and neighboring Deer Valley Resort, totaling 7,300 acres of mountain with more than 300 trails and 38 lifts!
For those who’d rather lounge around and stay indoors with a good book, a Netflix marathon, or stocking up on in-room massages, there’ll be plenty of time for that too.
Best known as the setting for the Sundance Film Festival, Park City is one of those cool little old ski towns tucked into the mountains that almost makes you forget what year it is. Most of the late night spots are saloons or pubs, so no pressure here to get too dolled up for a night out. That said, if your gals are down to get silly at the watering holes, No Name Saloon is not nearly as forgettable as it sounds – this place almost always ends up being where you spot that cute group of guys you sped past on the slopes. As if you needed any other excuses to pick up snow sports!
