The LINE Austin has been open since June 2018 and in March celebrated the opening of P6, the hotel’s requisite rooftop bar and lounge that used to be a parking garage. The name is, you guessed it, a nod to the lounge's former life. Set along Lady Bird Lake (AKA Town Lake), the property’s views of the lake, the south Austin skyline and Congress Avenue’s famed bat bridge are perhaps best enjoyed from the comfortable lounge areas on the open-air rooftop while sipping a Wicked Warden concoction of mezcal, Aperol and habanero shrub. P6 plans to host regular events and performances and is open Thursdays through Sundays.

Mediterranean Fare
At P6 the small plates and antipasti by chef Justin Ermini draw inspiration from Mediterranean climates, bringing in dishes like comté gougères, lamb tartare with hazelnut and pecorino, and tuna crudo with Texan olive oil, lemon and fennel pollen. The cocktail menu is designed by Brian Floyd (formerly Weather Up and Half Step) and includes easy-drinking hits like the toasted almond mai tai and the vegan milk punch. You’ll also find a nice list of desserts from Ashley Whitmore, the hotel’s head baker.
Inspired Design
The LINE worked with local architect Michael Hsu to create a greenhouse-like space that sprawls indoors and out for P6. There’s a lounge-like wraparound outdoor terrace with a fireplace and an indoor dining area with large tables and sculptural bench seats. Interior designer Sean Knibb pulled inspiration from Monet’s garden at Giverny, bringing vibrant pastel hues to the space and an overhead installation of geometric mirrors meant to mimic the reflection of water lilies on a pond.
Public and Private Events
P6 plans to become known as a cultural hub, offering regular events, performances and wellness classes in the space. P6 can also be rented out for private events, including weddings. And don’t forget that The LINE has a gorgeous glass-walled ballroom that’s great for a larger group. There are various additional venues throughout the property, including a pool deck, a screening room and a travertine studio that mimics a classic boardroom only with much better-looking décor.
