A Colorful Wedding in Mexico Under a Canopy of Candlelight

If there’s one thing you instantly notice about W Punta de Mita upon arrival, it’s the colorful, bold and bright décor. Embracing the artistry of the indigenous Huichol people, the hotel’s many art installations and bold architectural flourishes give this resort a personality all its own. So, when we got wind of a wedding that embraced the décor and accented it through interesting lighting installations and bold floral décor, we had to hear more.

We caught up with photographer Ana Hinojosa  about the creative and lighthearted, celebratory spirit of this 3-day wedding weekend captured in her images. If you are on the hunt for a tropical destination with a waterfront view for your special day, this just might be the venue you've been searching for!

Tell us a little about the couple.

Ericka and Charly are a unique and fun couple. They are gorgeous inside and out and are always ready for adventure. I mean, their motto together is "Forever Whatever.” So when they contacted me to document their wedding I got super excited even moreso when I knew the wedding would take place at W Punta de Mita.

Why did they choose W Punta de Mita?

The bride and groom chose the W after a long search around the area. The modern, chilled out Mexican vibe and high-end luxury is what made this venue perfect for their eventful wedding weekend.

Are there any standout features of this hotel?

All their guests from Mexico and all over the world were captivated by the attention to detail in the rooms, the amazing ocean views, the delicious ceviches, original drinks and the colorful, inviting vibe.
