Venue Setting

The Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase is a hidden gem for hosting private events. This charming historic clubhouse creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere for celebrations of all kinds. From intimate parties to large receptions, it’s easy to customize an indoor or outdoor event in our versatile spaces. A classically designed banquet hall, cozy library, and sprawling garden invite guests to share joy with friends and family. A full catering kitchen, stage, and upper balcony add multiple functions to the 200 person banquet hall. An upper level bridal prep area and a covered outdoor terrace adjacent to the banquet hall make your event seamless. Three fire pits, an expansive lawn, and parking for food trucks is a perfect setting for a casual outdoor party. Adjacent parking for 90 cars and an easy to find location inside the beltway means your guests can arrive at your event ready to have fun!

Like a well loved family home, our clubhouse holds events for events of many generations. Wedding receptions in the 1940s led to daughter's weddings in the 70s and even granddaughter's in the 2000s! Although we are a private club we are a non profit and welcome a diverse range of events from anyone who appreciates the property as we do - start your own traditions on this historic property!

Nestled in a private neighborhood in Chevy Chase, Maryland, the Club is centrally located within minutes of Washington, D.C., Bethesda, and Kensington. No matter the occasion, the Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase brings a unique combination of elegance and comfort to your special day - setting the scene for a beautiful, memorable experience.

Design:
Historical Clubhouse built in 1938 with modern renovations without losing it's historical charm. The Woman's Club of Chevy Chase offers a premier venue for your next event - whether a public performance, an intimate dinner, a wedding, or a business meeting, the building supports any gathering large or small. The Club is centrally located in Chevy Chase, Maryland in a private neighborhood garden setting within minutes of Washington, D.C. Bethesda, and Kensington. Purpose-built in 1938 and continuously updated and maintained since then, the Club is classically appointed but fully modern in equipment and facilities. It features a variety of spaces and amenities. The banquet room seats up to 300 and offers two grand pianos on a classic proscenium stage. The adjacent library with two fireplaces has cozy seating areas and stairs to the upper level. The South Wing provides the perfect venue for a reception, dinner, or conference. An expansive back yard includes three fire pits, a trellice and arbor, and ample parking for guests and even food trucks!
Standout venue features:
An Auditorium focused on a fully equipped proscenium stage, ideal for drama or music performances, lectures, auctions, or book launches. This room seats 300 theater style with an adjacent library perfect for event check-in or receptions;
• The Auditorium can be utilized as a Banquet Room that seats 200 and can be arranged in a variety of ways, for example, wedding receptions with dance floor, bar/bat mitzvahs, art shows, fundraisers, luncheons, etc.;
• A classic paneled Library serves as a timeless wedding setting in front of one of the two fireplaces, or consider using this area for a quiet meeting, break out seating, or as an extension of the Auditorium.
• A South Wing meeting room ideal for smaller business meetings, lectures, or workshops of up to 50 people. The South Wing is also suitable as a cocktail party setting that opens to our gardens;
• A large commercial-grade kitchen with warming, refrigeration, and freezer equipment and significant storage capacity;
• An entry lobby with adequate space for event check-in stations or even a bar, connecting the Library and the South Wing;
• A beautifully landscaped outdoor terrace and garden, ideal for Spring - Summer - Fall events of all kinds. The garden flows down a gentle slope to the backdrop of an arbor and trellis. The terrace is heated and covered and opens directly to the Auditorium/Banquet Room. Firepits can be used for your event, with lawn games and food trucks.
• The upper-level Board Room provides a Bridal Prep Area or Green Room with stairs that descend to the Library. A special feature is the balcony that overlooks the Auditorium/Banquet Room;
• A dedicated 90 space parking lot with a wheelchair accessible sidewalk providing direct access into the Club building.

•32 Rectangular Folding Tables. These are a standard size of 30” by 72” and typically seat six to eight people. In addition, six high top cocktail tables are available.
•190 Folding Chairs with brown cushioned seats.
•Speaker’s Podium with microphone and/or US Flag.
•Parking for 90 cars in our adjacent parking lot entered from Dunlop Street.
•Furnished lobby with casual seating.
•Furnished Library with two seating areas and an informal meeting area if your Rental includes the Library.
•Outdoor Terrace covered by two canopies providing rain and sun protection.
•Two outdoor heaters for the covered Terrace.
•12 Folding Wooden Benches for use in the Garden.

An Auditorium focused on a fully equipped proscenium stage, ideal for drama or music performances, lectures, auctions, or book launches. This room seats 250 theater style with an adjacent library perfect for event check-in or receptions; • The Auditorium can be utilized as a Banquet Room that seats 200 and can be arranged in a variety of ways, for example, wedding receptions with dance floor, bar/bat mitzvahs, art shows, fundraisers, luncheons, etc.
South Wing
A South Wing meeting room ideal for smaller business meetings, lectures, or workshops of up to 50 people. The South Wing is also suitable as a cocktail party setting that opens to our gardens.
Garden with Covered Terrace
A beautifully landscaped outdoor terrace and garden, ideal for seasonal events of all kinds, with heaters available. The garden flows down a gentle slope to the backdrop of an arbor and trellis. The terrace is heated and covered and opens directly to the Auditorium/Banquet Room. Firepits may be added for additional cost.
