Vicarage on the Field
Venue Setting
As this home's name suggests, this is a vicarage adjacent to London Fields. It was built in 1864 but has been recently converted and feels instantly bright and inviting thanks to the ever-reliable combination of stark white walls and wooden floorboards. Elsewhere, there are modern touches aplenty, with our favourite being the tribute to The Creation of Adam on the kitchen wall — only appropriate given the heritage of the address. That being said, some period features have been retained, such as the exposed brickwork and wooden beams in the vaulted ceiling, and there's also a back garden that sits on the untamed side, although it's no less peaceful for it. Although there's a bit of a rustic feel to the home, trendy East London awaits outside the front door. London Fields Lido is two minutes' walk away if you fancy a dip in the heated waters and it's only fair to reward yourself afterwards with something delicious from one of the stalls at Broadway Market, only six minutes away on foot.
