Does this include catering fees?: No

Additional charges: Additional costs for the day include valet parking, security guards, and city special event permitting fees- all of which are fairly reasonable, but vary with final guest count/day of the week/ scope of the event. There is also optional rental of a built-in state of the art DJ/Band-ready sound system, designed specifically for our space, with a sound technician on site for the duration of your event. Estimates available upon request. There is a one-time $250 cleaning fee for all events as well as a required $2000 security deposit.

When my husband and I were looking for a place to get married in Los Angeles a few years ago we had a hard time finding a venue that checked all of our boxes. We wanted both indoor and outdoor spaces, we wanted an interesting architectural space that didn't feel too urban or kitsch, we wanted an amazing kitchen where great caterers could do their best work, we wanted it to be sophisticated and elegant, but still cool. We couldn't find it.. so we set out to create it and that's how The Washbow was born.

Venue Features

The scene:: The Washbow is a converted warehouse with 5,000 square feet of central unobstructed interior space under a lofty 16-25 foot bow-trussed ceiling with two sizable skylights. Custom steel and glass gallery doors open up partially or fully to a lush 2000 sq. ft landscaped courtyard with permanent pergola and mirrored wall back drop. The large, open space offers a blank canvas of limitless possibilities, with statement pieces like an architectural fire door (original to the building from the 1950s) and custom steel forty- foot shelves that backdrop our library alcove bar/lounge area. Our commercial kitchen is a caterer's dream, complete with 2 convection ovens, Wolf range, griddle, fryer, ample refrigeration and prep space. We have a private makeup room and two multi-use bathrooms. The building also has a 12-car parking lot with large lots nearby to accommodate valet for larger functions.
Design:: Our courtyard was designed by Elysian Landscapes, renowned for their work at The Parker Hotel in Palm Springs, as well as for fashion designers Balenciago, Marc Jacobs and Isabel Marant.
Standout venue features:: The Washbow is central to all areas of Los Angeles; Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Downtown… there's no one in the LA area who can't get to Culver City easily. Access to the 10 and 405 Freeways are close by and the building itself is located on a large boulevard in a fashionable neighborhood.
Extra perks:: All fees cover 12-hour use of both the outdoor courtyard and indoor space, as well as our commercial kitchen for all your catering needs. Many L.A. venues require their clients to build a catering kitchen on site. So we're really happy to be able to offer the convenience (and cost savings) of a real restaurant grade kitchen. Also included in the fee is our experienced venue manager who is available to answer questions or schedule walk-throughs for you and your vendors prior to the event, and who also will be present the day of the event to make sure everything runs smoothly. Use of any or all lounge furniture is also gratis.
