Founded in 2021 as the catering arm of The Music Center, our promise is to provide captivating and unexpected dining experiences while bringing people together, providing a sense of belonging and sparking joy.

Offering a multitude of unique indoor and outdoor spaces across the 22-acre Music Center campus, including three onsite full-service restaurants, we connect LA’s culturally rich communities through a variety of food offerings. Our chef’s have global experience and execute on thoughtfully designed menus featuring seasonally rich, California-grown ingredients. Our goal is to find the menu and service style to exceed your vision.

Additional charges: The Hope & Grand Events team works closely with our counterparts at The Music Center to offer an array of event add-ons. Those add-ons, including A/V elements such as staging, risers, lighting, audio/projection, and parking may incur additional fees.

Our team also maintains lasting relationships with an extensive list of preferred vendors including florists, furniture rental companies, and planners, should the vision for your event require elements outside of standard venue offerings.

Taxes and service fees are an additional cost, and will be provided as a part of all banquet event orders, prior to contract signature.

Venue Features

The scene:: Our property spans 22-acres, including four theatres, an outdoor plaza, park, and gardens. Set in some of the most notable landmarks of Southern California from some of the most prolifics architects of our time, including The Music Center's Walt Disney Concert Hall designed by Frank Gehry, our downtown Los Angeles location provides an iconic backdrop to the event of your dreams.
Design:: Stern Grand Hall, situated within the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, is approached by a grand, mirrored stairway flanked by sculptures by Enzo Plazzotta. The Hall features an elegant interior including Bavarian crystal chandeliers and columns of gold Byzantine-style tiles. This beautifully adorned space can include an outdoor balcony that overlooks the city, Jerry Moss Plaza and the San Gabriel Mountains.

The Music Center has played host to some of the most remarkable events in LA history, including 10+ years of hosting the Academy Awards. As a cultural and arts hub, presidential/world leader events, celebrity shows and concerts, and private events for performers of every variety ahve been hosted across campus. Our restaurants house award-winning chefs, including LA local, Chef Ray Garcia of asterid.

The Music Center Campus houses three full-service restaurants as well as a wine bar.

Abernethy's, located on Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center, is a destination restaurant offering an ever-changing culinary experience. Pulling emerging Chefs from across Los Angeles County, Abernethy’s highlights the diverse flavors and people of the city for special, limited-time engagements. Each resident chef creates their own experience - creating their own menus, redoing the space's art, and even providing playlists for diners to enjoy alongside their meal. With an expansive outdoor seating area on Jerry Moss Plaza, Abernethy's offers views of the bustling fountain and theatre-goers alike. It’s the story of LA – related and plated by the Chefs who tell it best.

asterid by Ray Garcia, located in The Music Center's Walt Disney Concert Hall, boasts modern, California-inspired cuisine from award-winning chef, Ray Garcia. Inspired by Chef Garcia’s Angeleno experience, asterid lives to discover and celebrate Los Angeles’ mosaic of diverse cultures and culinary richness through vibrant, ingredient-driven menus in a warm, lively atmosphere. Authentically from and for Los Angeles, asterid features Chef Garcia’s California-inspired menu and bar program that celebrates the spirit of L.A. This restaurant offers a private dining room as well as patio and lounge spaces overlooking Grand Avenue and museum neighbors, The Broad and MOCA.

Kendall's Brasserie, located on Grand Avenue, offers the conviviality and energy of a lively French oasis. As a spirited and vibrant respite for gathering, dining, and toasting, Kendall's team has energized beloved French dishes with local ingredients and a touch of “je ne sais quoi”. This restaurant has a private dining room, semi-private dining area, and sectioned off room with its own bar.

Walt Disney Concert Hall Cafe a grab and go cafe offering gran & go food, beverages, and rotating, daily hot entrees in a Los Angeles landmark.

The Mullin Wine Bar, a small but mighty wine bar on Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center, offers a wide-variety of wines, house-made cocktails, and a small menu of quick bites, including flatbreads.

Hope & Grand Events also offers portable, full-service bars that can be added to your event space anywhere across The Music Center campus.
