Nestled on the Big Island of Hawai'i’s Kohala Coast, you'll find The Last Resort, a high-end, 2-acre estate where world travelers, friends and family can make magical memories. We believe the best travel is off-the-beaten-path, immersed in local culture and food. That's why we feature local art and architecture, cultivate our own food, curate bespoke experiences, and nourish our ʻāina. 

We recently completed a massive renovation to restore and modernize our Hawaiian homes while also increasing the health and beauty of our ʻāina. The property features two large homes and as well as a honeymoon suite, comfortably sleeping a total of 15. Each home has a lush, large private lawn, wrap around porches, outdoor showers, high-end appliances and designer furniture. With views of the jungle, the Pacific Ocean, a serene cow pasture, a tropical orchard and stunning gardens, The Last Resort is as Hawaiian countryside as it gets.

The Last Resort estates is comprised of three unique homes, steeped in craftsmanship and wrapped in luxury finishes. They include the Banyan House (sleeps 6), the Mango House (sleeps 7) and Bamboo Suite (sleeps 2). We're proud to be in the top 5% of Big Island Airbnb homes and consistently ranked as an Airbnb 'Guest Favorite' and 'Superhost.' Here's a few reasons why guests love staying at The Last Resort:

CHEF-GRADE KITCHENS - Our kitchens are outfitted with new, high-end appliances, and the cabinets are stocked with everything you need from Williams Sonoma to prepare meals. The Banyan House kitchen is our largest, including TWO dishwashers, TWO sinks and a wine fridge, making it perfect for entertaining large groups.

LUXURY - We renovated the property with everything from stone countertops and Grohe bath fixtures to Restoration Hardware furniture and linens from West Elm and Crate & Barrel.

AMENITIES - From hammocks and board games to beach gear and BBQ grills to organic bath products and eco cleaning supplies - The Last Resort has every amenity your group needs to settle in and comfortably stay awhile.

OUTDOOR SPACES - With temperatures in the 70’s/80’s and a constant breeze, you’ll want to hang out on the homes' wrap-around lanais all day and spend your evenings around our two large outdoor dining areas. Our lush, soft sodded lawns are perfect for hosting outdoor events. The Banyan lawn is anchored by a prolific 300-year old Banyan Tree and two jack & jill tree swings. Guests can also access our tropical fruit orchard and enjoy veggies from our market gardens.

NATURE - The Last Resort offers views of Maui, the ocean, a serene cow pasture and tons of foliage. You’ll hear sounds of ocean waves, frogs, birds and breezes as you drift to sleep with the windows open.

BANYAN LAWN:
Old timers on the island tell us that our 300-year old Banyan tree is the oldest they've ever seen. So naturally, we made this lawn its namesake. The grounds are covered in super-soft sod, making it perfect for taking those high heels off and dancing. Couples love getting married under our Banyan tree with the sunset and Maui behind them. And if you're lucky, our bovine neighbors might graze over in the cow pasture next door. It doesn't get more Hawaii countryside than this.

MANGO LAWN:
Situated at the end of our property, the wraparound Mango lawn is flanked by foliage on all three sides. The front lawn is perfect for hosting smaller events, such as a cocktail hour or outdoor luncheon. You'll have views of our produce gardens, a variety of tropical fruit trees, bamboo and much more. The Mango lawn is truly a green oasis.
