The Grounds is founded on a paddock-to-plate approach to dining and offers a wholesome and holistic approach to food and design. With a bustling café and abundant kitchen garden overflowing with wholesome produce, The Grounds is an oasis within Sydney’s inner city surrounds.
The Grounds events team can create a truly memorable experience for your event. From large-scale soirees through to intimate celebrations, The Grounds of Alexandria offers a comprehensive events package that highlights each unique space paired with intimate and unique event styling, creative food offerings and tailored beverage options.
THE GARDEN
The masterpiece offering, The Grounds’ organic garden is overflowing with heirloom vegetables, blossoming flowers, fresh herbs and an abundance of seasonal fruits.
A crumbling brick wall covered with creeping vines, bountiful greenery and a generous scattering of fairy lights throughout the garden creates an inner-city sanctuary that makes for a beautiful event, day or night. The Garden can hold up to 140 for a seated dinner, or up to 220 for a more informal event.
At The Grounds we want to make sure your guests leave having had the best time possible, and this includes our range of food options. We work with you to choose the right food package for your event, meaning you can tailor not just the styling, but how you choose to eat – shared feasts, canapés or sit down.
The Garden hosts a multitude of events from wedding celebrations to corporate parties. It is a vast, sustainable space with the potential to be elegantly transformed in line with your creative vision. The Garden includes an outdoor floor and ceremony space, large gazebo and alfresco bar. Being our largest area, it has the capacity to feature a main entertainment stage. The possibilities are endless, and we are here to help you develop, plan and put into place the perfect event for any occasion.
THE PATIO
The Patio is an oasis within our garden sanctuary. The perfect backdrop for media launches, bridal and baby showers or a special celebration. Our menus are catered around brunch, lunch and high teas.
The Garden Brunch is a lighter option, and offers a variety of seasonal fruit, freshly baked pastries from our bakery, The Grounds signature Smashed Avocado and other delicious options.
The Garden Tea is for those looking for a sit down catch up with finger foods but not wanting a full commitment of a 2 course meal, offering a selection of savoury options where you can customise what is on your tables, accompanies with fresh scones, you feel like you are in a scene from Alice in Wonderland.
The Garden Lunch is for those looking to sit down, and enjoy a full meal, and includes a 2-course selection of shared mains accompanied with entrée antipasto.
The Patio is a perfect platform to create a memorable event in a beautiful setting.
Additional styling options are available to help you create your perfect event with catering options to ensure everyone is satisfied.
The Patio can seat up to 30, or 40 people more casually with a grazing style food offering and seating pods throughout.
THE ATRIUM
Remaining true to The Grounds impeccable design aesthetic, this beautifully styled indoor garden atrium is a fresh, light and charming entertaining space privately located behind The Potting Shed.
Enveloped in greenery, this romantic space is Parisian inspired with a rustic nursery tone that features wooden tables and bentwood chairs against a backdrop of sage and cream wall paneling, brass finishes and green accents. This is a truly unique events space able to be transformed to cater for a range of events and beautiful weddings.
The Atrium can seat up to 110 people or hold up to 150 in a more casual standing event. Styling by The Grounds can be arranged, and is sure to create a memorable experience to party into the day or night.
The Atrium can cater to canapé, shared, grazing or dining menus, with plenty to choose from, you can plan the right menu for a flawless event.
In The Atrium we can cater for corporate needs with laptops, screens and other presentation needs. Just let our events team know when making your booking and we will ensure the room is set up appropriately for your event.
THE LOCK IN
Your private liquor den – a dark and mysterious room in which guests can privately indulge and enjoy the freedom of seclusion, all situated within The Potting Shed bar and eatery.
Hidden behind a huge door, The Lock In offers a space for guests and their friends to escape the humdrum of the day and unwind without disruption. It’s a place where staff take your coat and you can take your time.
The Lock In is home to a superb stash of top shelf Whiskeys and spirits providing countless impressive selections for your tipple of choice. If Whiskeys aren’t your thing, we have a wide variety of drinks on offer including champagnes, cocktails and shed brews.
The Lock In can seat 20 people at the custom made leather table and chairs, or if you are more of a drink and move around group, a standing event can fit up to 30 people.
Whiskey tastings, girl’s nights, poker nights, hen’s and bucks parties, sit down dinner, work lunches, whatever it may be, get lost in the world of The Lock In.
