The Scene:
Time has only improved this iconic resort in the heart of LA. In 1970, legendary Hollywood actress Beverly Garland, and her husband Fillmore Crank, discovered this bucolic seven-acre property and knew they wanted to create a hideaway for friends, family and guests. Together with Las Vegas hotel impresario, John Kell Houssels Jr., they decided to build a Hollywood hotel that was an oasis within the high-energy excitement of Los Angeles. In 2000, the Beverly Garland hotel was handed down to their son James Crank, whose unpretentious, sophisticated style influenced the expansion of the hotel into a true resort. Chic, relaxed and centrally located, guests here are close to the Hollywood landmarks, popular attractions and world-renowned entertainment business epicenters, all while being ensconced within the urban paradise the Garland family created. Today, The Garland has been reimagined and renovated with a hip new restaurant, cool décor, manicured outdoor parks and fresh ideas.
Design:
The Garland’s 257 guest rooms, of which 14 are suites, lobby and lobby bar were restyled in vibrant colors against rich textures and eclectic accent pieces to project a sophisticated, bohemian California style. Family ownership teamed up with design team Forchielli Glynn alongside Rossi Architecture, to update The Garland’s withstanding structures and spaces to reflect the needs of the modern traveler while honoring the hotel’s true Hollywood roots.

Bars & Lounges:
Come lounge at The Lobby Bar and have a refreshing drink or enjoy your cocktail by the pool. The Lobby Bar features unique setting where you can meet and greet and start off a wonderful night. Order the Cranky J made with nolet’s, st. germaine, hand-pressed lemon juice, sage and champagne float. It's named after our sometimes "cranky" owner, James Crank, son of Beverly Garland and Fillmore Crank.
