The scene:

The Eldred Preserve embraces the dichotomy between its contemporary design and its rural location to offer visitors a true “jewel in the woods” experience.

Leading to the upper level in the main event space, an elegant spiral staircase serves as a dramatic centerpiece, only to be matched by flexible lower-level event space that includes an outdoor area that sets the stage for a garden-to-table dining experience. A large covered pavilion that marks the entry from the parking area to the restaurant and the event space was designed to offer a stunning arrival experience.

Design:

The Eldred Preserve's master plan seamlessly weaves together 11 on-site structures with an expansive nature trail network, taking care to protect and preserve the surrounding forest and pastoral appearance of the property. The layout encourages guests to explore the natural grounds, whether soaking up views or dining under a tree canopy.

The indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to be contiguous, with the interior design harmoniously blending with the exterior design throughout the property.

Onsite dining includes The Homestead Restaurant + Lounge at The Eldred Preserve, where patrons can enjoy modern farm-to-table steakhouse cuisine in a number of experiential spaces including a wine-tasting room, private dining room, sunroom, large outdoor terraces, social firepit areas, and elegant mezzanine-level piano lounge. Expansive, 26-foot-tall glass windows line the face of the resort restaurant, offering picturesque views of the ponds, stream, and gently rising, tree-covered hillside beyond.

The lounge area at The Homestead Restaurant + Lounge offers a variety of seating options, from intimate conversation areas that overlook the elegant dining room below to ample pub seating that surrounds the enormous three-sided bar. Guests also have the option to enjoy a cocktail and conversation while seated next to The Lounge’s custom stone fireplace or on the outdoor porch, which offers its own glass-encased fire feature.

The Lounge’s offerings also include several food options, an ever-changing list of carefully crafted signature cocktails, a wide selection of world-class wines (all available by the glass or the bottle), and an array of spirits and beers, many distilled or brewed in and around Sullivan County, N.Y. In addition, guests can enjoy Happy Hour specials or pick from one of the bar’s harder-to-find premium spirits.
