  Tis’ the season to get engaged! We are in the thick of engagement season (hello, snowy proposals) and you know how it goes: first comes love, then comes a proposal, then comes wedding planning! With all of the highs of being newly engaged, jumping into the wedding planning process can be overwhelming at best and daunting at worst. An excellent first step in the planning process is attending a bridal showcase. Why? Before you start Pinteresting or even budgeting, it’s great to go and see florals, dresses, tablescapes and installations in real life to find what you really love – from colors to place settings – and focus your energy there. We know, the words ‘bridal showcase’ may conjure images of puffy white dresses and doilies but we assure you, this one is a treat. Started by mega-creative and close friend, Jill Fausner (you may know her as Layered Vintage), Modern Love Event is a unique bridal showcase built exclusively for the city it’s in. Modern Love launched in January of this year with its first event in San Diego followed by Nashville. What’s special about this collection of creatives is that they are gathered based off research about the unique wedding market of that city. We caught up with Jill about the Nashville event at The Cordelle and got the inside scoop on the second San Diego event coming soon.

You have breathing room, but you never feel far from home. That's why three ladies left the West Coast to return home to the South, settle in Tennessee and open The Cordelle. Today we are sharing a BRAND NEW VENUE! Established in 2014, this venue is VRV (Venue Report Verified); Venue Report Correspondent Tact Venue Consulting has personally visited this venue. The story goes like this... Three gals in Los Angeles decided it was time for their families to settle some Southern roots. Nashville knows how to host, and building a venue that embodied that hospitality was the only way they wanted to do it. After Talmadge (the founder and drinkist behind Los Angeles based Pharmacie) introduced me to Chandra, Nealy, and Leigh, they asked to meet me in a tiny Echo Park bar in early 2013, to chat about venues. There they presented me with a startlingly thorough plan, which included photos of their new muse: a dark and forgotten brick home from the late 1800’s. Well, wouldn’t you know it, over the last year, I have watched them resurrect her into a beautiful space ready to host the most memorable of moments.In a tiny corner of town called Rutledge Hill, the rolling residential streets are chock full of gorgeous turn-of-the-century brick buildings, with their stout stance and bashful charm. However; The Cordelle gracefully entered the Nashville special event and wedding scene like the belle of the ball, with it’s delicate details and loyalty to the great Victorian construction of the late 1800’s. Standing tall and slender, The Cordelle is surrounded by simply landscaped grounds, welcoming each guest like family.It is easy to see the sparkle in this recently unearthed gem, but the real facets don’t shine until you walk to the middle of the great hall, and take a moment to look around. From the warm clatter of guests’s feet shuffling on the dark hardwood floors, to the lazy Nashville breeze blowing through the wall of open patio doors.
