Born in Cuernavaca, Executive Chef Juan Robles showcases different regions of his native Mexico through comforting dishes that showcase the very best, organic ingredients from the nearby Santa Monica Farmers’ Market and from regional fishers, farmers and ranchers whose responsible practices give back to the ocean and land. He and the team also make fresh chile pastes, spice blends and salsas from scratch, and the corn tortillas were one of the top two in KCRW’s 2021 Annual Tortilla Tournament.
The colorful bar, lounge and outdoor patio (aka “Felix’s Bar”) focuses on small-batch agave spirits and features an array of seasonal margaritas, creative riffs on Mexican and Tiki cocktails and housemade aguas frescas, while the eclectic wine list highlights boutique, planet-friendly producers from Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Portugal, California and more.
Tallula's is available during the day or night for full buy-outs, accommodating 110 seated or 250 standing. The bar, lounge and canopied outdoor patio can also be set aside for semi-private events. The private event space on the second floor is perfect for birthdays, cocktail parties, wedding rehearsals, company meetings and special dinners. With a dedicated bar for mixing up margaritas and serving wine and beer, this light-filled and casual room can host a seated dinner for 30 or a standing party for 50 people. The team also offers catering and a taco cart for off-site events.
