Set slightly inland from the seaside town of Porec, from the outside this pretty stone-and-shuttered home looks very traditional. But inside, it’s anything but. The owners have shrugged off the all-white, cookie-cutter holiday villa decor approach, opting for artistic flair with a touch of drama (case in point: the black curtains in the master bedroom) and kitsch quirk (check out the denim-inspired bedding in one room). But the focus here remains luxury and comfort. The curved pool-side sun loungers guarantee an afternoon snooze (although the local white wine might have something to do with it too), the covered dining terrace boasts a built-in barbecue and the living room offers style and space to relax in, with a wall-mounted TV. We particularly love the views from the first-floor balcony – a superb sunset spot if ever we saw one.
