Like having an intimate dinner party at a close friend's house… if that friend had access to the best seasonal, fresh ingredients around and lived with a sommelier.
Sopra embraces centuries of traditional Mediterranean customs and encourages the breaking of bread around a communal table, in an apartment above Amali.

Venue Setting

1. Sustainability: Amali is one of a handful of restaurants above 14th street with a documented commitment to sustainable food, wine and design. You can trust that the food served here comes from either a local farm or fisherman. You don’t need to travel to Brooklyn to enjoy local, seasonal food. 2. Creativity: Our events package offers direction but we can also offer custom menus and unique options upon request. 3. Quality: We serve a la carte quality, not banquet quality. We do not use warmers and the like. 4. Experience: Our restaurant group has earned multiple three and two star New York Times reviews and numerous other accolades in our thirty years in the hospitality business. 5. Wine: Few restaurants are able to offer 400 selections, like a 2009 Harlan Estates, a biodynamic wine from Greece or a value wine from Southern France.

Venue Features
The Scene:
Set in a former apartment above Amali, an open kitchen puts guests an arm's length away from Chef Rachel as she prepares the meal. Diners interact with the sommelier, owner and chef before the dinner before sitting down to a five course, multi-dish dinner.
Design:
Says HauteLiving: “Amali is a modern designed restaurant that feels more like someone’s dining room than a New York restaurant. The tables and all of the surface wood is made from 150-year-old pine taken from the ceiling of the restaurant during renovations. All of the other wood used in the restaurant - from the ceiling to the menu boards - is repurposed from New York buildings. Amali is heaven for the sustainable customer that likes to dine out on the town.”
Standout Venue Features:
Says UrbanDaddy: “Sopra is an entirely different but similar restaurant to the Mediterranean gem that is Amali. The similarities: charm, location, porchetta. The differences: dinner’s always five courses, the porchetta is much larger, you’re mingling with everyone else in the place, and “the place” is a huge lofted apartment with an open air kitchen.”
Extra Perks:
Restaurant-caliber settings, floral arrangements, Design Within Reach furnishings, reclaimed handsome wood dining tables.
