Sacred Mountain is a romantic outdoor venue that is nestled amongst 61 acres of lush, unspoiled nature. We are located in the charming and bustling town of Julian, California, just outside of San Diego. Our unique property has 5 well-appointed residences for overnight accommodations for up to 32 guests. Sacred Mountain welcomes family reunions, elopements, photoshoots, weddings, and retreats.

Additional Charges: Sacred Mountain fees include all services in setup to breakdown. Tables, chairs, linens, parking attendants, security personell, and complementary decor. Additional vendor services such as catering, DJ/Music, florist, and entertainment are the responsibility of the client. Sacred Mountain allows clients to customize their vendors; creating a unique and personal experience for each event.

The Retreat

The Retreat has three well-appointed residences: the Main Cottage, Carriage House, and Old Rustic Barn. In addition to the residences, there is a private and blooming Secret Garden, 40' Saline Pool and European Pergola covered in white wisteria. Enjoy the uninterrupted view of Volcan Mountain and all of the comforts of home you could hope for including luxury linens and endless amenities.

The Private Ranch is made up of our three unique event spaces: Sunset Plateau, Meadow and Courtyard + Lounge. This Ranch also includes our well-appointed Meadow House. Discover the breathtaking views that each space has to offer. The Private Ranch encompasses Julian history with an ancient stone staircase, a hillside of oak trees, and Julian's oldest gold mines. An additional Honeymoon House is coming soon!

Inside Scoop

Before becoming Sacred Mountain, the location was known as Angel's Landing. The essence of angels and majesty can be felt on the mountaintop.
Due to our geopgraphic positioning we often get ocean breezes coming from the Pacific Coast. On any morning or dusk, you can spot wild turky and deer families roaming the property.

Venue Features

The Scene:: Sacred Mountain Julian is located on a hilltop within the old mining town of Julian, CA. In fact, SMJ has several previously utilized mines on the propery. You can feel the beauty and wealth of this land when you set foot here. Just a five minute drive from our property you can tour the historic sites of this area and the families that settled here first.

Design:: Sacred Mountain Julian consists of two ranch parcels. For over twenty years, the Retreat side of SMJ served as the private vacation ranch of a San Diego home seller/ designer. Purchasing the second parcel in 2012 from a local and memorable Julian family - the ranches were combined, millions of dollars put into renovations, and a separate Honeymoon House erected in 2019. Today there is a combined total of five impecciblly finished accomodations. Our overnight occupany suits up to thirty-four guests. Be sure to review our social media for images and videos. Standout Venue Features:: Sacred Mountain Julian is a private ranch, quiet nights and beautiful landscape make this a one-of-a-kind destination. Our main house boast a sport pool and in-pool jacuzzi with a large balcony for dinners or family/game nights. Two staircases lead to the lower lawn and European pergola with lantern and market lighting.

Our antique barn - now renovated with every fine detail attended to provides an elevated elegant and rustic charm. The home provides sleeping for up to four, a wrap-around deck with views of Volcan Mountain and the valley, it's own on-deck jacuzzi, and fireplace.

The Sunset Plateau is the jewel of our location; offering views across San Diego and on clear days - the ocean. Sunsets practically every day are purple, oranges, pinks and blue.

Remember, there are three other houses to visit.
Extra Perks:: Our "whole mountain" reservations include tables, linens, chairs, accessory lanterns, elegant iron and wooden bars for service, full setup and teardown staff.
We offer golf cart shuttles to and from the myriad of houses and events spaces. We offer access to a full commercial kitchen with lounge and courtyard; complimented with our stone staircase leading out to our lower meadow.

Sacred Mountain offers horse rides and photos. Our stables is located on-site. Separately managed and operated as Integrity Stables.

Celebration Locations

Courtyard / Lounge / Meadow:: Our main event space is our Meadow; consisting of a catering kitchen, Indoor Lounge, Courtyard, and Lower Meadow. The option to reserve the Meadow House provides a 3bedroom / 2 bath house with full kitchen, dining and living areas, fireplace and balcony view of the Courtyard and Lower Meadow. Main Cottage:: The Main Cottage offers patio dining for up to 35, lower terrace dining for up to 40. If overnight accommodations are needed; this venue offers a 3 bedroom / 2 bath ranch home. Huge master suite and jacuzzi tub, reading nook, full kitchen and dining, living area, wood belly stove, massive deck and lawn. The house offers a separate Carriage Cottage consisting of the lower room with two Queen beds and half bath an upper room with one Queen and a Single bed and full bath. Sunset Plateau and Meadow Valley:: The Sunset Plateau is the jewel of Sacred Mountain. Set atop our mountain, viewing of the backcountry of San Diego, we can accommodate a catered event for up to 50 seated and 100 standing. Picturesque and magical, memories are for sure to be made here. This would be a timed rental unless other accommodations are reserved. The Meadow Valley sits at the basin of our 60 acres.
