For your reception, our large barn doors slide open for your celebration inside Bret Harte Hall. Wrought iron chandeliers & twinkle lights line the expansive barn with 6,120 square feet of space that includes all your tables and chairs to accommodate receptions from 80 to 300 guests. We have ample room for dining, dancing and more outside on the adjacent lawn- perfect for games and mingling.

An expanse of grass adjacent to an old-fashioned one-room schoolhouse offers the ideal setting for a garden wedding.

Bret Harte Hall
Roaring Camp's Bret Harte Hall, suitable for the wedding ceremony or reception, boasts 6120 square feet of unobstructed space, a full theatrical stage, and 32-foot-high ceilings. Designed for today's group events, Bret Harte Hall's multi-function space has adjustable lighting, an on-site preparation kitchen for caterers, and massive doors that open onto a covered reception area and adjacent lawn.

Cathedral Grove Site (includes train)
For a wedding venue that is truly unique and inspirational, couples exchange vows under the redwoods at Cathedral Grove atop Bear Mountain. This ring of ancient giants, referred to as a Fairy Circle, was formed as a result of three generations of redwood growth, coming together to create a perfect circle. The beauty and symbolism of the circle offer a cathedral-like setting for your special ceremony. Access to Cathedral Grove ceremonies requires train transportation to Bear Mountain and back for wedding party and guests.

Venue Features

The scene:: Step back in time as you enter Roaring Camp through a historical wooden covered bridge. Pass over the train tracks and onto a 170 acre park surrounded by some of the tallest old growth Redwoods. A vintage Schoolhouse bridal suite sits next to the train tracks where a 100 year old steam train stops to pick up the bride before the 30 minute ride to your ceremony in a Cathedral Grove of Redwoods. Stroll through Oak trees perfect for a shady green ceremony backdrop on the expansive lawn used for seated ceremonies. Pass the lawn and follow the signs to our vintage Railroad Junction Depot downtown. Enjoy watching a blacksmith forge metal, stop in to view an old printing press, catch the Sheriff on horseback singing songs from the old west. Our reception barn invites you in with rolling barn doors opening to twinkle lights, wrought iron chandeliers and ample space enough to gather your family and friends. Your guests can mingle on the lawn next to the hall with a train inspired fire pit, corn hole games, hay bales and wood benches.
A plume of white steam and the clang of the train bell hearlds the approach of the train at the covered depot. Step onto the platform a get ready to board on the most memorable and magical wedding journey. All Aboard!
Design:: A 6,120 square foot reception barn with wrought iron chandeliers, a twinkling mirror ball over the dance area, a large stage with theatrical stage spotlights for bands or a DJ. uplights and downlights to highlight all your special tables and side tables. Sliding barn doors opening to a lawn with mingling space with cornhole, haybales and wood bench seating area, twinkle lights throughout the barn, Rustic coffee cart and Redwood Beer Bar with two taps and a jockey box, wine barrel cocktail tables and staged bar area.
