Inside Scoop

Despite its natural surroundings, the Rengstorff House is located within the heart of Silicon Valley, with many top industry businesses just miles in proximity. Experience a step back in time as you make your decision to host your event at the historic Rengstorff House!

Venue Features
The scene:
Enter the grounds of the historic Rengstorff House, and you will immediately sense the unique character as well as the simple elegance of the place. The Rengstorff House features three, distinct lawn areas, many with adjoining brick patios. In addition, on-site is an idyllic, restored windmill and water tower structure that serves as a picturesque location for “first look” images. Everywhere you look, it seems, photo opportunities abound!

Originally built in 1867 by Henry Rengstorff, a Mountain View landowner and rancher, the facility was fully restored in 1991, and now features ornate brass chandeliers, Victorian plaster rosettes, push-button light switches, Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper designs, as well as Eastlake furniture appropriate to the time. While the majority of your event occurs outdoors, guests will enjoy perusing indoors to take a brief step back in time.
Design:
The Rengstorff House fatures a Victorian Italianate design with a hip roof, a central gable crowned by a widow's walk, front portico and symmetrical room layout. The portico is flanked with built‑up square columns. These columns support a classical entablature: capital, architrave, frieze, brackets and cornice.
Standout venue features:
Adjacent to the Rengstorff House is a charming lakeside area, perfect for bridal photos. In addition, the facility is located within a wildlife and recreation area, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We hope you will visit the site to experience all that Rengstorff House offers!
Extra perks:
The Rengstorff House offers use of an elegant, white wedding arch, reserved parking for up to 32 cars, and overflow parking within walking distance.

City of Mountain View staff is available for consultation regarding basic rules and regulations prior to booking the venue, and offers assistance in reviewing your event layout approximately 30 days prior to your wedding or other special event.
