The distinctive dining experience of every meal further enhances Palala’s uniqueness – award-winning and highly skilled chefs lead guests on a culinary journey. Entice the senses with the wide selection of wine and champagne or choose to unwind with a cigar from their renowned collection.

Design:
Indulge in a rich and luxurious African safari experience entrenched into the DNA of this unique lodge that is so unmistakably 5-star. The African inspiration, seen in the variety of textures, intricate carvings and natural elements is combined with classical décor pieces to create a unique visual feast.

Should relaxation be on your menu, the picturesque setting of the lodge and the unique indulgence on offer will complete the picture. Lounge at the infinity pool with a refreshing cocktail while savouring the ambiance of the African bushveld with the roar of lions or the call of the fish eagle to complete the experience.

Our young guests will be spoilt for choice in the children’s entertainment center that offers an indoor and outdoor area. The entertainment center is fitted with televisions, PlayStation, DVD player, colouring in stations, board games, trampoline and table tennis.

The Lodge is situated in a Malaria free zone, making all outdoor activities safe for adults and children alike.

Tree of life ballroom: Its crystal chandeliers, mirrors on the ceiling and breath-taking views of the bush make it the perfect backdrop to any function. Elegantly decorated in a neutral palette the allows for the venue to suit possible any colour scheme and theme you decide on. The retractable doors open up to merge with the terrace, allowing for more creativity in terms of space and function options. Our capacity in the Tree of Life Ballroom for a sit-down dinner is 80 guests and a further 60 guests can be accommodated on our terrace.

The Terrace: The wide veranda, adjacent the Tree of Life Ballroom, creates a unique and breath-taking entertainment area. The spectacular, colourful allure of the sunset over the waterway brings guests together on the deck and is ideal for amazing photographic opportunities. The thrill of watching the hippos graze and the various game species drinking at the large waterhole, facing the lodge, makes this an unforgettable experience.

The Island: The Island brings a unique and interesting element to the diversity Palala has to offer. The island lends itself as the perfect back-drop to breath-taking photo opportunities, romantic picnics, team-building events, wedding guests enjoying their canapes, and so much more. Illuminated by firelight and starry skies, diners will enjoy the diverse and tasteful cuisine complemented by authentic traditional flare such as potjies, braai’s and wood oven pizzas. This venue can be reserved for a group booking ensuring exclusivity as it boasts a well-stocked bar, separate catering capability with kitchen and its own bathroom facilities.

The Chapel:
The Chapel with its high ceilings and large windows is bound to captivate, charm and fascinate all who enter it. The solid ornate wooden doors, detailed décor, dark wooden exposed trusses and the calming atmosphere make this chapel the perfect place to begin the first day of the rest of your life.

The Matoppie Restaurant with high wingback chairs and large tables create a relaxed private dining space under a unique abstract Matoppie tree. Enjoy mouth-watering dishes inspired by truly South African ingredients and perfected by our passionate and award winning chefs. Offered on the evening set menu, guests will find favourites such as our Chef’s own combination of succulent beef infused with a variety of Indian spices; a macadamia and mushroom stuffed chicken breast wrapped with smoked bacon and drizzled with a whiskey and onion sauce; a selection of lamb cutlets crusted in a Dukka of sweet spicy seasoning and so much more. New and exciting additions are constantly introduced to allow our guests to indulge in a culinary experience of note.
Bars & Lounges:

The lounge area with flat screen televisions, bar, two fireplaces, and complimentary WIFI access is the ideal setting to sit by the fire and enjoy your latest novel and a prize winning glass of local wine. Alternatively guests can simply choose to relax and reflect on the day’s activities while getting lost in the breathtaking surroundings of the waterway and the abundance of bird life on display. The coffee tables boast an impressive array of books of interest on local fauna and flora and a variety of board games are available on request.
