This beautiful Grade-II listed Georgian farmhouse and two adjoining cottages are surrounded by rolling Dorset downland and sit within an organic cattle farm (you can look forward to fresh eggs, milk and butter). The interiors are as rustic as you'd hope for, with wooden ceiling beams in most rooms, lots of roll-top bathtubs and plenty of comfy furnishings positioned next to log burners. There's so much to do without the address, from taking a stroll around the walled gardens and meeting the bovine residents to taking a dip in the indoor heated swimming pool, which is twelve metres long. After a session in the water, hop into the sauna and leave ten minutes later with a healthy glow on your face. Elsewhere on the grounds, there are hammocks to laze about in and a children's play area. If you're not in the mood to cook at any point, meals can be delivered by the owner and host Sarah, who just so happens to have trained at Le Cordon Bleu. There's a pub ten minutes' walk away in the village of Tarrant Monkton, as well as further options in the nearby town of Blandford Forum, which takes just under a quarter of an hour to reach in the car.
