Narborough Hall is an ancient building sitting within its own historic parkland. In spring follow the snowdrop walks beyond the lake and deep into the woods where the ground is carpeted with delicate flowers. Feast on ingredients foraged in the park and along the riverbank before sitting around the bonfire and talking long into the night. As the cool night air creeps in head back to the house and settle into one of the five comfortable, flower-filled bedrooms or two rustic, scandi style cottages.
The summer brings abundance to Narborough with the borders overflowing with gentle English colour, the lake full of waterlilies and rambling roses cascading down every facade of the beautiful old Hall. Beds in the walled garden overflow with fragrant herbs, glossy-leafed vegetables and soft fruits waiting to be tossed into fresh summer salads, grilled over open flames or folded into unctuous desserts.
Winter envelopes the house with an atmosphere of serenity and quiet beauty. Open fires crackle in every room and on a still day the scent of wood smoke lingers throughout the gardens. When the lake freezes the reflections of the parkland beech and oak trees fall like delicate woodcuts onto the ice. Early sunsets bathe the grounds in warm light, creating painterly floods of colour across the winter skies.
