Featuring 40 well-appointed one to four bedroom villas and penthouses, Marea combines the privacy of a luxury home with the services of a resort, ensuring an exclusive experience for travelers where convenience meets tranquility. It is a destination where guests rest, relax and recharge with access to wellness offerings including the ancient ritual of Temazcal, multiple pools, yoga, sound therapy and kayaking in the lagoon. The local culture is reflected in the culinary offerings at Marea, with its Ola! Restaurant and Ola! Beach Bar showcasing seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients and culinary techniques. Design:

Marea Beachfront Villas offer the quintessential beachside escape where the tranquility and beauty of the ocean flows effortlessly into the villas. Each is uniquely designed and adorned with a mix of natural and vibrant colors alongside design accents that evoke a beachside retreat. Large windows and oversized sliding glass doors throughout each villa not only bring in natural light but also showcase the breathtaking views and bring in the cool ocean breezes from the Pacific Ocean. The open concepts found in each villa blends the fully equipped kitchen with the living room and dining room, creating flow and making for plenty of space to lounge.

Exteriors feature plunge pools, lounge chairs and space for dining. Terraces on lower levels allow guests to easily step out onto the beach from their villas while upper level balconies make the perfect spot for relaxing and taking in ocean views.

Standout venue features:

Marea is located on a quiet, 10-mile stretch of pristine beach in Playa Blanca. Because the property is not too large, the team is availble to focus on guests and tailor experiences to group needs, making for a more intimate event. It is surrounded by nature from the Pacific Ocean just steps from the property to the lagoon that borders the back of the resort (and can be explored by kayak!). Every room at Marea offers ocean views and features a full kichen, living room and private infinity pools.

Wellness is part of the experience at Marea - it is one of the only destinations in Zihuatanejo to offer the traditional Temazcal and Cacao ceremony led by a Shaman and features an observatory, perfect for stargazing near the secluded beach.

Marea is accessible via a number of direct flights from cities across the United States and Canada including San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago, Houston, Toronto and Vancouver. It is ten minutes from the airport and a 15 - 20 ride to downtown Zihuatanejo.

For weddings, the bride and groom receive a complimentary in-room amenity of sparkling wine, chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals, a couples’ massage and early check-in/late check-out based on availability. When more than 15 villas are booked, the bride and groom receive a complimentary one-bedroom villa for two nights.

Ola! showcases authentic Mexican cuisine drawing inspiration from the area culture and local ingredients, highlighting comforting street-food, from traditional to modern Mexican recipes. Ola! offers breakfast each morning and a lunch/dinner menu throughout the day and into the evening. Guests can also enjoy a Mexican Degustation menu, specially designed by Ola’s! Executive Chef or participate in a culinary class to learn about local ingredients and recipes. Ongoing programming like intimate dinners at the beach and a Taco & Spirits Journey tasting featuring Tequila, Mezcal, Sotol, Pox and Charanda invites guests to explore different offerings throughout their stay.

Ola! Beach Bar menu is meant for poolside lounging and relaxing, featuring a menu of tacos, tostadas, sandwiches and snacks alongside with signature cocktails, beer and alcohol-free beverages.
