Inspired by the fantasy and beauty of old cottages discovered during our travels throughout the English countryside, combined with a bit of Mediterranean symmetry and formality. The European style gardens at M&D Farm enchant and romance every visitor's stare... A truly magical outdoor garden wedding venue in Upstate New York.

THE BARN

The barn, built in the late 1940's, is a large open space with tall front and back doors allowing light and air to seamlessly connect our European style outdoor areas and gardens, enhancing the romantic backyard English countryside atmosphere. M&D Farm’s barn clean lines with its well curated myriad of artwork and antiques, serves as a magical canvas, making your dream romantic cottagecore wedding a reality. Let your imagination take flight when planning your European style outdoor barn and backyard garden wedding. M&D Farm’s barn main building is connected to three additional wings: a fairy light airy overhang, a laid-back stylish bar reminiscent of 1920’s bohemian speakeasy and a spacious catering-prepping area.

THE DINNING COURTYARD & FIRE PIT

M&D Farm’s barn back door opens up to reveal the Dining Courtyard a long graveled area surrounded by trees and nature reminiscent of the courtyards you find in many private villas along the mediterranean country side. Wether the space is used for dining al fresco or covered with a tent, M&D Farm’s Dining Courtyard is the perfect setup for recreating a typical European fête with its long tables under the magical glow of string lights. Making it the idyllic time to share amongst family and friends an intimate dinner full of joy and good wishes. Connected to the back of the dinning courtyard is the fire pit lounging area with its oversized sugar kettle bowl surrounded by Adirondack chairs and an roomy Faux Bois Garden bench giving guests the option to enjoy the cozy intimacy of a warm roaring fire. When dinner is over, normally couples choose the option to have the fire on and while many go on to dancing in the barn, fire lovers gather around the fire pit to chat while enjoying drinks, s’mores and a cigar under the stars…

THE POND GARDENS

Located on the lower part of the property, M&D Farm’s pond gardens unfold unto a large open space surrounded by nature, lawns and pastoral fields. This area offers couples another beautiful option for ceremony by using the pond’s reflection as their background. In addition to the pond’s ceremony site the gardens feature an understated laid-back outdoor bar, with plenty of seating areas and a multitude of lawn games making it an ideal spot for guests to explore, relax and enjoy during pre-ceremony and cocktail hour. As evening falls M&D Farm’s pond bar lounging area illuminates, its strings of lights create a warm cozy glow. The whimsical magical backdrop, visible from other areas of the property, tends to attract guest to gather and lounge while enjoying nature in all its amazing splendor.

THE FARMHOUSE

Originally built in the mid to late 19th Century, M&D Farm’s farmhouse was added onto in both the 1920s and 1980s. It is situated between the city of Hudson and New York's capital of Albany. Each magical room of this romantic Victorian farmhouse is filled with the character and charm reminiscent of yesterday and will welcome you with a warm and cozy embrace.... M&D Farm’s farmhouse is the perfect setup to relax and enjoy your stay with family and friends while getting ready for your special day!
