Venue Setting

LUCE CIELO is an architectural gem located in Downtown San Diego’s eclectic and vibrant East Village, walking distance to the Gaslamp Quarter and often likened to Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. The beautiful raw event space is housed in a historic concrete and red brick warehouse featuring a soaring barrel-arched ceiling with exposed wood beams and industrial elements. The eye-catching details are highlighted by a massive central skylight artfully surrounded by more skylights creating beautiful natural light. A design aptly fitting the “LUCE CIELO” name and a space your photographer will thank you for. While the thoughtful window composition and strung market lights create a cozy feeling, the 6,500+ sq ft. of open space allow you to fully realize any configuration and style of wedding for up to 250 guests.

The Scene:

LUCE CIELO a beautiful vintage warehouse highlighted by a massive skylight and historic brick walls. CIELO spans 6,500 sq ft including a dreamy bridal suite, 4 restrooms and a private parking lot area perfect for food trucks and cocktails hours.  Located in San Diego's vibrant East Village neighborhood, CIELO is perfect for 75 to 200+ guests.

Design:
CIELO is LUCE Event’s newest property, and while the converted warehouse has operated as a favorite So Cal venue for several years, we’re revamping the historic framework and relaunching the space with new features worthy of the artsy district in which it resides. We’ve torn down a few limiting walls, resurfaced the beautiful concrete floors, dressed up and furnished the dreamy bridal suite, and even completely remodeled the restrooms. What was an eye-catching urban space before is now an epic industrially chic venue that will keep your guests buzzing about their experience long after the wedding.
Extra Perks:
The flexible open floor plan and vendor policy provide the perfect blank canvas for any special event. It’s a planner’s dream space to craft a rehearsal dinner, welcome or after party, and of course most popular for ceremonies and receptions. CIELO is spacious without feeling overwhelming and can host receptions up to 300 guests with a maximum of 250 seated. Ceremonies are best for 225 or less. For a seated reception, between 100 and 250 is an ideal number. If your party size is smaller than 150, also check out our 5 star East Village space, Luce Loft. We also encourage you to peek at our other urban warehouse space LUCE on Kettner located in the heart of Little Italy and inviting for events up to 300 as well!

Awards & NotablesWE COULDN’T HAVE FOUND A MORE PERFECT VENUE! There are a lot of venues in downtown San Diego, and many of them are awesome, but we ultimately chose this one for a few reasons. The design. The building is just gorgeous, and the lighting is incredible. I loved the look and feel of the upstairs loft area, and it was plenty spacious for everyone to hang out and get ready before the event. The outdoor space. It was so awesome to be able to do a cocktail hour outside and to have the option for additional reception space (and extra restrooms). Our guests spent a lot of time on the back patio! We knew we wanted a food truck caterer, and the truck was able to just park and set up out there without a problem. The flexibility. We were planning our wedding from out of town, and the team worked with us and our vendors to make sure drop off, set up, and pick up happened without any stress.
