Named for the mythical creatures that lured the seamen in Homer’s epic, LA SIRENA is an elevated trattoria serving food inspired by classics from throughout the Italian Peninsula.
The design of the restaurant incorporates and preserves details of the Albert Ledner building but updates the space in a palette of gray tones with accents of white marble, brass, deep red, and blackened steel. Custom ’60s-inspired curvilinear pavers accouter the floors of the plaza; leather chairs and barstools throughout the space were custom-made in Friuli.
A single central staircase provides access to the restaurant from Ninth Avenue. The centerpiece of the space is a 38-foot monolithic Caesarstone bar that bisects the grand plaza and connects the north and south dining rooms. A glass-fronted loggia partially covers the bar area and makes it accessible year round while maintaining the brightness of the 140-seat outdoor patio.
The Cabanas at La Sirena are comprised of two separate and distinct event spaces: The North Cabana and The South Cabana. Each is about 3,000 square feet and has a private entrance, so event guests may enter directly from street level. The two rooms are connected by a sky walkway and may be used either independently for separate events or in tandem for a single large event. Both spaces feature patios with weatherproof retractable glass roofs for open-air summertime events or cozy heated events in colder months.
With Kartell furniture in-house and a dedicated banquet kitchen team, The Cabanas offer turnkey events. The spaces are the ideal setting for a fashion show, wedding ceremony and reception, corporate outing, or charity event with the versatility to host an elegant dinner for 80-200 or reception for 150-500.
For or more intimate affairs, the South Dining Room Windows and Wine areas offer a lively connection to the main restaurant while maintaining their standing as entirely private spaces. South Dining Room Windows can sway as many as 30 guests with South Dining Room Wine has a seated capacity of 45. Divided by a glass wall and accessible to one another through twin sets of glass double doors, the spaces can be used in tandem for reception or presentation and seated dinner for groups of up to 45 for a cocktail event of up to 150.
There are no other spaces in New York City that offer a reprieve from the bustle of Manhattan with high-quality food designed by a Michelin started chef with the flexibility of those at La Sirena.
