The J.K. Place Capri is known by the first plant of the Hotel Continental which was a private house, Villa Bevaro, built before 1878, which opened its doors as a hotel in 1885. . In the 1899 guide the Hotel Continental was exalted as the only first-class hotel with a private path to the beach below. The good reputation of the hotel was still the 1910 guide, which was defined as the most elegant hotel in Marina Grande, and also thanks to the contribution of Wolcott-Perry, who purchased nice and stylish furniture in Naples and Capri, at their expense, to make the hotel more confortable during their stay in Capri. The Hotel Continental was renamed Hotel Métropole after the First World War. In the late Eighties, during work on the modernization Hotel Métropole, which has been renamed Hotel Palatium, they found fragments and archaeological finds from the Roman period, of particular importance. In 2007, after 3 years of renovation, the Hotel Palatium was converted into the actual J.K. Place Capri.
