Venue Setting

The J.K. Place Capri is designed to be a Mediterranean house open to those who can appreciate beauty, art and the complex balance between luxury and moderation, where everything is scrupulously thought out. A place of unusual perfection that remains welcoming. It manages to retain a rare and precious simplicity, where colours blend with the flavours and sounds of the sea. The history of the J.K. Place Capri is known by the first plant of the Hotel Continental which was a private house, Villa Bevaro, built before 1878, which opened its doors as a hotel in 1885. . In the 1899 guide the Hotel Continental was exalted as the only first-class hotel with a private path to the beach below. The good reputation of the hotel was still the 1910 guide, which was defined as the most elegant hotel in Marina Grande, and also thanks to the contribution of Wolcott-Perry, who purchased nice and stylish furniture in Naples and Capri, at their expense, to make the hotel more confortable during their stay in Capri. The Hotel Continental was renamed Hotel Métropole after the First World War. In the late Eighties, during work on the modernization Hotel Métropole, which has been renamed Hotel Palatium, they found fragments and archaeological finds from the Roman period, of particular importance. In 2007, after 3 years of renovation, the Hotel Palatium was converted into the actual J.K. Place Capri.

The Scene:
Exclusive, refined, intimate and friendly... this is J. K. Place Capri. The Hotel, already prized from Tatler as Hotel of the Year in 2008, is now one of the protagonists of The World’s Greatest Hotels, Resorts & Spas, a prestigious book realized from the well-known magazine Travel & Leisure U.S.A. to review a selection of the most exclusive and elegant hotels in the world. The J. K. Place Capri is designed to be a Mediterranean house open to those who can appreciate beauty, art and the complex balance between luxury and moderation, where everything is scrupulously thought out. Design:
JK Place Capri has been designed by Michele Bonan, the genius Architect that projected the cousin JK Hotel in Florence. He created the JK Place Capri starting from the Historical building, previously called Hotel Continental. The Architect refined the townhouse hotel into a place where visitors are treated as houseguests rather than clients. Advantaging of a stunning position on top of a cliff, the terrace view is mostly facing open water and embraces the entire Gulf of Naples across the Vesuvius and the rest of the island, gives the guest the sensation of being in absolute contact with the natural environment The proximity to the sea inspired Michele Bonan who brought the sea into the hotel thanks to the deep blue paint of walls in the breakfast room and photos of vintage yachts. Even if it contains the same concept of its Florentine brother, like the Library with its art and architecture books, the Capri’s JK has the same atmosphere of an American seaside perch. The House fulfilled of light, cozy white sofas and armchairs reminds more about fifties and gives the Guest a familiar feeling. The Décor still remains devoted to Capri’s traditions and colours: white columns, nautical yellow and light blue paint in rooms together with white linen fabrics. Outside, on the terrace, is not only possible to admire the sea until the Horizon line, but smell the fragrances of jasmine, citrus and boungavillea as a prelude to the taste of a the Mediterranean gourmet cuisine served at the JKitchen. Walking through the Bar Terrace the Guest can also access the Pool Area and the JK Spa entrance on front. The primary objective is the wellbeing of the guest, who can enjoy the elegant atmosphere as well as exclusive services such as the gym area or the fitness centre, with hammam and Mediterranean sauna. Rooms context is enriched by precious details white and grey marbles and mosaics for the bathroom, black and white rugs that delineate the spacious bedroom areas, amplifying the sensation of essential beauty.
