A historic cinema and printing factory built in 1923 but recently transformed into a small and cozy boutique hotel. Located right by the center of town, overlooking the sea-side and mountains across the fjord. Roughly 50 kilometers from the Arctic circle.
On the ground floor of the old printing factory is a 20 seat restaurant called NORTH operated by Chef Gunnar Karl Gíslason who was awarded a Michelin star for his restaurant Dill.
North Restaurant highlights the local ingredients and traditions and offers an intimate and exciting journey where the flavors of Northern Iceland take the center stage.
On the ground floor of our old cinema is a hydroponic vertical farm where we use warmth and water from the hotel to grow leafy greens, herbs, edible flowers, chilies, and various other exciting plants.
