Set amidst a rocky Alpine landscape, this historic mountain hotel is located at 2,165 metres above sea level on the Grimsel Pass.
In 1142, the Grimsel Hospiz was the first guesthouse in Switzerland mentioned in documents. In 1932, it became the first electrically heated hotel in Europe.
The restaurant serves traditional Swiss cuisine, as well as a wine cellar and a bar. Guests can relax in a fireplace lounge and a lounge offering panoramic mountain views. Free WiFi is available in public areas.
The elegant rooms at the Alpinhotel Grimsel are furnished in a 1930s style. They offer a minibar, a work desk, and a TV.
Free private parking is available at Historisches Alpinhotel Grimsel Hospiz. The village of Guttannen can be reached by bus in 30 minutes, and the bus stop is right outside the hotel. Lucerne is a one-hour drive away.
In winter, the hotel can only be reached by 2 cable cars and 1 tunnel train. The arrival journey will be organised by the property.
