Gruene Estate, the original Gruene homestead, spreads over 15 acres in New Braunfels, Texas. The secluded property consists of several structures including the 1857 home of Ernst and Antoinette Gruene, a charming open air wedding chapel with antique European stained glass windows, and a iron bell tower, as well as an open air pavilion and other historical housing.

Accomodating up to 12 overnight guests and 200 event guests, Gruene Estate is an ideally situated location for those looking for an elegant Texas country wedding near Austin and San Antonio.

Accommodations
We offer overnight accommodations in the historic Gruene family homestead. We can sleep 12 overnight guest on site. The home, which was built in 1856, features two seperate buildings. The main house is a three bedroom two bath home that features a king bed, queen bed, and twin trundle beds plus two full baths. The detached carriage house is a studio style unit that can accommodate four individuals. There is a king bed, twin trundle, full bath and furnished efficiency kitchen.

Venue Features
The Scene:
Our property is set on 15 acres of hay fields and is an historic working farm inside the loop of New Braunfels. We have two Longhorns and two paint horses that live on the property and are eager to be fed.  Deer and other wildlife abound. This historic property features the original home of Ernst and Antoinette Gruene, the founders of the town of Gruene, a National Historic Site. We are located approximately a mile from the Gruene River crossing.

Plenty of French baskets and containers for flowers and candles are available for your wedding or event. Handmade tables and chairs made from reclaimed Iowa barn wood adorn the facilities. 

The property décor not only focuses on nature, but also unique antiques. Charming French chandeliers, rustic doors, and oversized basket lighting adorn the pavilion.

We have a lot of vintage and shabby chic decorations that are available for you to use at no extra charge. There are over 200 different types of decorations that are available to our brides that we do not charge them to use: centerpiece, vintage candle holders, storm lanterns, burlap table runners, and many more.
