Venue Setting

Görväln offers a fascinating milieu in a beautiful setting on the shores of an inlet of Lake Mälaren. It has a well-preserved manorial milieu with buildings dating from four different centuries where the main building (which is, incidentally, the only remaining 15th century building in Sweden and which has a façade clad in sandstone from the Swedish island of Gotland) and the wings draw the beholder's eye.

We have 38 rooms; divided in the room types: 5 single rooms, 4 Queen rooms, 12 Double rooms, 6 Double Superior rooms, 4 deluxe rooms, 5 Grand Deluxe rooms, 2 Bridal suites.

What makes the hotel unique is that all of our hotel rooms are housed in old buildings with a large helping of built-in charm. Every single aspect of every room is of a very high standard and no two rooms are alike. Every detail of every room – from their colours, flooring, décor, to their furniture and bathroom tiling – has been handpicked and carefully selected. And the beds are something very special too, with fully sprung divans from Mille Notti and down-filled mattresses, pillows and duvets. We can pretty much guarantee you the sleep of your dreams at Görvälns Slott.

Our rooms are in five separate buildings, all buildings have different decoration styles;

South Wing
Year of build: 1679, Completed the same year as the castle building.
Position: About 25m from the main castle building.
Interior decoration style: Playful rococo with a modern twist.

North Wing
Year of build: 1679, completed the same year as the castle building.
Position: About 25m from the main castle building with beautiful sea view.
Interior decoration style: Playful rococo with a modern twist.

Villa Solbacka
Year of build: 1929, built by Torsten Friis to house his prominent and frequently visiting party guests.
Position: About 175m from the main castle building positioned next to a small cove of Mälaren.
Interior decoration style: 1920-30s style with dark wooden floors, leather, crystal and zebra carpets.

Villa Krog
Year of build: The cellar is intact from the 1700s and the building itself was built in the 1900s. Acted as a tavern until 1830.
Position: About 200m from the main castle building next to a small cove of Mälaren.
Interior decoration style: Playful rococo with a modern twist.

Villa Bleckhornet
Year of build: Built 1889 as a gardening villa.
Position: About 200m from the main castle building.
Interior decoration style: 1920-30s style mixed with wooden paneling, dark furniture and zebra carpets.

Our experienced Head Chef, Stefan Ekengren, loves using traditional raw materials in his creations and combining them with a generous pinch of innovation, while our Sommelier ensures that your drinks are the perfect match for the different flavours of the food. Our goal and theirs is to ensure that the overall experience satisfies the senses of even the most exacting gourmand.

This section provides insights into our diverse culinary and social offerings.
Our restaurant "The Gallery" is open six days a week for dinner. Whiteguide Sweden "Masterclass" rank for the kitchen, 2015.
On the second floor is our bar, a beautiful hall of mirror and three lounges for mingle after dinner. For smaller weddings, you can hire one or two lounges for your company.
