Venue Features
The scene:
Charleston is a city overflowing with culture and history, all of which comes alive the moment you step inside the Gibbes Museum of Art, located along the city’s Museum Mile. Upon walking into the grand Beaux-arts style building, you’ll see unique architecture and details preserved from 1905, along with several meeting spaces, a relaxing café, a breathtaking classical European-style garden, and revered galleries that feature over 400 years of American art, as well as thought provoking contemporary exhibitions. Whether you're hoping to celebrate team building or to celebrate love, the Gibbes is sure to provide an unforgettable experience.
Design:
Touches of old Charleston can be seen throughout the recently renovated Beaux-arts style Gibbes Museum. The window and door openings from 1905, as well as the original porcelain tile floor and crown molding, welcome you into the building, and the art invites you to stay. Once you ascend the restored double staircase and enter the into Rotunda, you'll be taken aback by the beauty of theTiffany-style dome, which lights the neo-classical sculpture gallery- an exquisite place to exchange vows or celebrate with a cocktail hour.

You'll lose track of time in the main gallery while exploring the art dating back to the eighteenth century, and you'll be brought back to the present when browsing the contemporary art exhibits on the 3rd floor.

As you head back downstairs, the rose marble flooring, exposed brick walls, and glass curtain windows of the Reception and Lecture Halls lead to the museum's classical European-style garden, adorned with contemporary touches. Lined with live oaks and lush plantings, the garden has withstood countless "I Do's", as well as many lively receptions and corporate galas.
Standout venue features:
The 1,345 square foot sculpture hall lends itself to an intimate dinner setting or romantic wedding ceremony. The rotunda gallery is marked with its Tiffany-style art glass dome, porcelain tile floor, original light fixtures, and molding, and is truly the jewel of the GIbbes Museum.

The Lenhardt Garden is a classical European-syle garden with contemporary touches. The stunning allee, created by live oaks with lush plantings, surrounds the garden and provides an intimate space for an unforgettable evening.
