- The Scene:
- Before ariving to Galopina, you will have to pass through the colorful towns of Yucatán; You will see its people, its streets and its folklore... Once you arrive at the cenote reserve, you will have to pass through the town of Acanceh, you have to slow down and continue entering the bowels of this land, stop, observe and fill your lungs with tropical air and continue driving along the road through the countryside.
You have arrived, Galopina is in the middle of a 7-hectare plot of land, which is divided by an old path where horses used to pass to collect henequen. When you arrive, you discover Galopina little by little. The design of the house is atypical as it is divided into three parts. First, you have the main house, then, a short walk and crossing the bridge is necessary to get to the rooms, since for us, it was very important that our guests could appreciate the vegetation and fauna going or coming from the rooms to the main house.
The landscaping was adapted to our endemic vegetation while maintaining a relaxed and natural style. our surroundings remain wild, as the goal was to preserve the authenticity of the Yucatecan vegetation, being coherent with our style and with the experience we want to offer.
Nature and architecture are in harmony, the birds chirp all day long and embellish our trees with their beautiful plumage. At night, an orchestra of crickets sing, and as a ceiling, we have the starry sky of Yucatan.
Entering Galopina is entering a universe where design and nature merge to honor Mexico. - Design:
- Dear guest:
Galopina was created and dreamed of with love. Each piece of furniture, each plant has an important role in the design of the house. The furniture was rescued and renovated, let's say it lives its second life and that is exactly what makes it special, our furniture is unique and have its own story to tell. Also, it's made of cedar, which is so magical as the smell predominates in Galopina. The architectural project has been developed along with TACO (Taller de Arquitectura Conceptual) whose practice is based on an analysis that encompasses tangible factors such as nature and the built environment, as well as intangible factors such as local culture.
The interior design is sober but cozy, giving space to details and natural elements such as wood, candles, lamps, fibers and plants. The design was intuitive, Galopina was decorated with passion because it is something we love to do.
Galopina has been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Conde Nast, AD, Milk Magazine to name a few. - Standout Venue Features:
- Our highlight is nature: birds chirping in the morning, and crickets at night. Dinners under starry skies.
Our location, we are within the reserve of one of the most beautiful creations of nature: the cenotes.

- Food, Restaurants, Cafes:
- Our greatest reward every night is our guests compliments towards our cuisine.
The food is a mix of places and memories: vegetables, fruits and fish from the region, Mexican chocolate and honey harvested in Galopina is what we like to cook with. Our cuisine is intuitive, a mix of Mediterranean, French, Turkish and Mexican food. Simply comforting cuisine, prepared the way it is prepared at grandma's house, seasoned, colorful, and comforting.
