Built by the British in 1813 to repel intruders in the most savagely abrupt way possible, Fort George has since considerably softened its stance and now offers an idyllic retreat to visitors from far and wide. The Mediterranean ambiance is magical. The garden not only sets the perfect backdrop for your wedding ceremony, but the restaurant and dance floor are also situated there, making it the perfect outdoor setting to dance the night away beneath the stars.

The rooftop terrace is ideal for the cocktail reception, providing wonderful panoramic sunset views. And, if the weather were to take a turn for the worst, the rooms inside of the Fort are a more than a satisfactory backup option, providing you with an 1800’s royal treatment feel.

Design:
The two hundred year-old fortress has been restored into an awe-inspiring events venue with a rustic, bohemian feel and hosts a restaurant, lounge bar, open air night club and art gallery.

The garden sits beneath a forest of pines and is the ultimate secluded spot to bask in the sun or relax in the shade. The rooftop has 180-degree views of the Adriatic and is the perfect place to watch the sun sinking below the horizon. The restaurant serves the finest Mediterranean cuisine and the head chef, inspired by the venues spectacular setting, fuses the traditional with the contemporary to create innovative dishes.

Good food is the bedrock of any great wedding reception. If an army can be said to march on its stomach, then a wedding party surely dances on it too, and so we make it our mission at Fort George to serve food that matches the splendor of our surroundings.

Our Head Chef has drawn on decades of high-level experience, spanning the full gamut of culinary disciplines to produce a set of menus catering for all tastes and using only the best local ingredients. Do not hesitate, however, to let us know if you have any special requests or specific dietary requirements.

Bars & Lounges:

From the first toast to the last wistful nightcap, it is of paramount importance on your big day to keep the right drinks flowing at the right time. We will stock the Fort George cellar with a dazzling array of libations from which to choose from.
