This grass-roofed eco-retreat is located just a one-minute walk from the shorefront of Watergate Bay and is part of a complex which blends into the cliffside. Designed by Interior Design Masters winner, Banjo Beale the home features chairs made from Pinatex – a sustainable pineapple leather – and other chairs made from recycled plastic bottles, a lampshade made from an upcycled Hungarian chick coop, while the breakfast bar features two suspended lampshades created using wicker parasols from Ibiza. The first-floor veranda – with outdoor chairs from local maker Mena Woodwork – is the perfect spot to start your days with a morning coffee. While the sustainable outdoor table is great for picnics, afternoon Cornish cream teas, or even alfresco meals as you dine on fresh mussels with white wine, listening to the waves crashing in the distance. With the beach close by and water sports reachable within just two minutes on foot, you can choose between relaxing days by the sea, reclined on the soft sands, or hitting the waves and trying your hand at surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and kite surfing. Then, when you’re tired, head home, and rinse off under the outdoor shower before relaxing with a good book on one of the day beds.
