If there's anybody out there that doesn't appreciate a bifold door, we've yet to meet them. This home in East Preston is blessed with two sets of them, which when opened on sunny days, turn the entire ground floor into something closely resembling a verandah. Outside, you have the option of sitting out on the terrace, lounging about in the hammock or firing up the charcoal barbecue. Back inside, there are lots of design touches that have us nodding our heads appreciatively, from the statement wood burning fireplace and the driftwood motifs throughout to the huge kitchen complete with an Aga. As you might be able to tell by the smell of the sea air outside, the beach is pretty close by — just three minutes' walk, in fact — and the home has a handy space for storing equipment, as well as a wet room to rinse everything down. The rural beauty of the South Downs National Park is a ten-minute drive away, as is the centre of Littlehampton.
