Venue Setting
This delightful modern apartment in Whitby is set on the banks of the River Esk, ideally located to explore the town's maze of narrow medieval streets lined with independent boutiques and characterful pubs. Follow the east bank of the river to reach the fascinating Captain Cook Museum and historic Whitby Abbey – the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’ – ending at the lighthouse on the harbour arm for fantastic views of the town and the Blue Flag beach. Just a five-minute walk from the flat, this two-mile stretch of white sand is backed by colourful beach huts. We'd recommend making a stop at local institution Trenchers en route to pick up a chippy dinner. If you fancy exploring further afield, make for the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors, where you can hike and bike your way up hill and down dale before heading home for a lovely homecooked meal prepared in the open-plan kitchen and a well-deserved glass of wine on the comfy sofa.
